Rating: Summary: You can find better Review: I gave it two stars, because some of the information presented is worthwhile. It is useful for those who are trying to break into the entertainment industry, and it covers a variety of topics, which is its strenght. It goes down hill from there. Not the worst Audio book I ever picked up, but close in the running. The only thing I truely learned from this audio book is never to invest my money in this audio publisher, or these audio tape speakers. What this tape could have used is a good audio editor. One of the speakers has the annoying habit of deep breathing before every single sentance, and sometimes mid-sentance. I ended up focusing on her breathing than I did on her content. This is a no-no. I find it hard to beleive that anyone with as much experience in media, esp voice work, as they claim to have would allow this product onto the market. In multi-voice segments, where the three main voicers speak, they constantly cut each other off, and talk over one-another. May be forgivable in the TV medium on occasion, but it is a death sentance in audio book format. Interviews which are conducted are done in the same manner, and feel orchestrated. It is as if they are reading a script and are trying to make it sound "natural". Lesson # 1: Egos not in check will NEVER come off sounding "natural". It seems to me that egos took over, and that quality of the product suffered. Again, there is some good info available, but I wasn't able to get through the first listen without a number of breaks. I can normally listen to the same audio book a few times, before the information gets old. I won't even think of giving this a second listen to for a long time. Professionalism & qualtiy, just isn't there dispte the good info. The information they presented can be found in a variety of other sources (other books of the respected fields). It would have been nice if this melting pot of different media info would have been better produced.
