Summary: Everything...
Review: Everything to Gain is a great title, because this book has everything. Great characters, great drama, and great escapism. It dosn't matter if some things are "unbelievable"; the books content is so well written you can't help but to cheer Meg on and you just want to tell her there is hope and to keep trying. Thanks for making me feel like I was there!

Summary: You COULD put yourself in Meg's shoes...
Review: Except that the main character's name is Mal (short for Mallory) and NOT Meg! Did you even read this lousy book?? I was bored to tears, only stuck with it because I promised someone I'd read it. Now I have, and what drivel it was. The first half of the book dragggggged on and on. The second half wasn't even remotely realistic. My advice is to stay as far away from this book as possible--it stinks!

Summary: EVERYTHING TO GAIN
Review: From a Mothers point of view this story was a heartbreaking time in the life of someone who had so much going for her. The realism displayed during the grief, depression and months of trying to go on could only be written by someone who was close to the trials Mal went through. I don't think I'll ever forget the song that still rings in my mind that was part of the story. I felt the closure came when the children and her husband appeared in her dream and she was finally able to bury the ashes. I thought this was a good book and movie!

Summary: Can you say corny????
Review: I found this book so far from believable that I actually found myself shouting the words "Oh, come on!" at least ten times.

It didn't start out all that bad - you more or less expected the life-is-so-perfect stuff as a build up to the tragedy. And, I guess it was a bit over-done, but Malory's grief was acceptable. But, after that - there was no point left to the story. There was not one single obstacle put in this woman's way - everything she tried to do turned into a roaring success! She hints at money problems immediately after the husbands death - yet there is no indication ever that money is a concern. Matter of fact, she just buys whatever she wants, keeps a staff of housekeepers on the payroll while she trots off to England for six months. Who was footing the bills?

Anyone who struggled after the death of a spouse, or anyone who ever struggled to build a business best NOT pick up this book. You'll end up throw it across the room.

Summary: Very emotional
Review: I found this book to be very well written. The details made you feel like you were there. I love how it was written as if the character was telling the story. It helped to get to know Mallory. I couldn't put the book down. From chapter 19 on, I was moved to tears and could feel Mallory's pain

Summary: Can you say corny????
Review: I just thought this book was so ridiculous! It even insulted my intelligence! I couldn't even read this without nodding off, i had to listen to it on audio tape where it was almost unbearable to listen to the overdramatic and idiotic conversations of alien people.

Summary: Don't bother
Review: I read A Woman of Substance, and liked the book, so when I came across Everything to Gain, by the same author, I expected a good read.

I was extremely disappointed. The book was not worth the time. There is nothing to hold your interest - no strong characters or character development, no interesting plot, no sharp writing or snappy dialogue.

In short, a waste of time...
