Summary: Act Two Is Ablaze
Review: After reading Bill Myers' incredible Blood Of Heaven, (one of the best books I have read in recent years), I was quite eager to read the second book in the trilogy, Threshold. I was extrememly disappointed with Threshold, it was far from a page turner. It was a very easy book to put down, I considered not finishing it a few times, however I was able to eventually get through it. I was extremely leery about picking up Fire Of Heaven, however the appearance of characters from Blood Of Heaven helped me to buy this book. How does it rate compared to the first two books of the trilogy? It is no where near as good as the first book and it is much better than the second.
I would have enjoyed this book so much more if it were 75 - 100 pages shorter. Myers spent far to much time setting the stage for the books final confrontation. I did not begin to really enjoy the book until I was nearly half way through it. As I stated earlier this one is much better than Threshold, however I was not captivated as I was with Blood Of Heaven. I found myself skimming some sections and really wanting to skip over others.
I am glad that I stayed with this book because Myers really kicked it into gear in the end. After finishing the book I could almost forgive Myers for boring me through the first half of the book. The second half of the book, along with the very exciting ending, were worth wading through some boring chapters.

Summary: Creative and Challenging
Review: Bill Myers makes up for some loose writing (ie. "overindulged spectacle of bad taste") with some creative genius. Myers has a great way of dropping Biblical truths and themes into modern day settings. Where other Christian fiction plows old ground with occasionally better writing, Myers throws caution to the wind and writes from his heart and his imagination.

In this book, Brandon and Sarah, Katherine and Eric--all characters from his previous books in the trilogy--are brought together to deal with physical and spiritual enemies. Ranging from Turkey, to the Himalayas, to Jerusalem, the story moves along quickly. The spiritual allegory of Christ and His bride is powerfully portrayed through Brandon and Sarah's marital difficulties, while also showing the miracle of forgiveness in real-life relationships.

Myers warns us at the beginning of the book that this one is essentially for preaching at the choir. He even encourages the reader to return it to the shelf if they seek only fast-paced escapism. With this warning in mind, I was able to speed through the story (after a ponderous first thirty pages), and reach the conclusion with many spiritual themes to contemplate.

Creativity and Biblical challenge seize the day; Myers continues to explore new ideas in new ways.

Review: Bill Myers' third installment in this series involves Brandon and Sarah Martus in what appears to be the re-telling of the Book of Revelation, and you need to pay special attention to the author's preface or you will either get lost, or think he has re-written the Bible, which he hasn't.

What he has done is produced a beautiful and provocative tale concerning what could be the "End Times," although each reader needs to make their own determination. He is not a prophet or seer or even a "Left Behind" wannabe. This book stands on its own merits, and its a terrific read!!!

Summary: 3rd and best of a great series!
Review: Fire of Heaven is the third of a series of three (so far) wonderful books with an entirely original treatment of the end days. Myers just may be better than Milton in justifying God's ways to man! Real people with real weaknesses are portrayed realistically in their trials to overcome evil with good. The characterization was as good as the plot, which is a rare find. The overall message was extremely thought-provoking and ultimately uplifting spiritually. I strongly recommend all three books: Blood of Heaven, Threshold, and Fire of Heaven.

Review: fire of heaven-bill myers lastest--is an awesome portrayal of how the only way that things get done is only by and through God. it takes the characters from their own weakness to their greatest strength(help from GOD!!!) although i dont agree with the authors interpretation of revelation, it is still an awesome book!!! Great plot and storyline!! if you liked threshold and blood of heaven--then youll love FIRE OF HEAVEN!!!

Summary: This is great fiction!
Review: From the start, if you bother to read the comments from the author, he does specificaly point out that he is NOT trying to tell the future, but simply a book of fiction. That being said....it is a FANTASTIC peice.

I had read the first book (Blood of Heaven), then the second (Threshold) and though the books are not related, he brought them together with such ease. How'd he do that? 3 people want to borrow the book from me.

If Bill Myers writes more adult fiction, I am buying it.

Summary: Great but a bit looser than the first two
Review: Heroes from books one and two appear in this third tale. We already care for them, so [Myers'] already has our interest. The struggle between Brandon and Sarah (now married) was frustrating, and a bit odd. Yes, there are parallels in Scripture, and God can move in mysterious ways. Nevertheless, this part of the story line proved distracting. Overall, the plot and character development were more complicated, and less crisp than the previous two. Myers did well, and Fire of Heaven is a worthy recommendation--but it falls a notch from the others in this trilogy.

Review: I am writing this review as I am reading the novel. The reason for this is that I must share my experience with others. This book has put into words the call which God has place on my heart and many other christians. That call is for total submission to the Son of His love. I would strongly advise any believer that feels that God has called them to total submission to read this novel as an encouragement for their walk.
