Summary: Not A Bad Accident
Review: I bought this book accidentally while I was in a rush. I usually don't read mysteries or police stories, but was pleasantly surprised once I cracked this book open. I found the main character, Cindy Decker to be frustrating because the reader gets to watch her be bullheaded and make unwise decisions out of pride. She felt very human and natural which made me care that a vicious stalker was terrorizing her. There were a few characters, the gal pals, that I found rather annoying, save one named Marge. I had a problem with the fact that I felt the author was fighting with herself about letting Cindy have a romantic subplot. If that aspect of the story had been slightly more develped I think I would have given this book one more star. I also felt as one other reviewer felt; there is one chapter that takes too much time explaining the Jewish faith to its readers. I almost skipped that chapter which took up a good 20 pgs of the book. Overall, it was an engrossing story with pleasant twists, and the author gave very few hints as to how the story was going to end up which led to a wonderful surprise ending.

Summary: I should have waited for the paperback.
Review: Being an avid reader of mysteries, I try new authors to add to my list of favorites (Marcia Muller, Janet Evanovich, Robert Crais, Sue Grafton and Joan Hess), but this author will not be added. The storyline was interesting, but not enough so to keep me up late reading the book. I was able to put down this book for several days before picking it up again. Some characters (Scott Oliver, Haley Marx and Beaudry) were dull and undeveloped. Maybe they will be further developed in subsequent books. Additionally, I found Stalker contained too much emphasis on the religion of Rina (Lazarus) Decker. I realize this is a main component of her character, but it seemed to be more of an effort to fill out the book and unrelated to the storeline. This time could have been spent further developing the other characters in the book.

Summary: Good start, weak ending
Review: Excellent opening! A mother with a baby gets carjacked and it seems that carjackings are on the increase in LA and the LAPD are trying to link them together. Enter Cindy Decker, a young rookie cop, whose dad is a detective on the force, and she a graduate of one of the country's top colleges, you would think with that background she would be quite intelligent..wrong!

I have never read Faye Kellerman and after not being impressed with Johnathon Kellerman, I thought that I would try Faye anyway. I should have listened to my instincts....The opening is great and you learn into the book that Cindy is being trailed for some unknown reason. But about halfway into the story, I realised that Cindy is not a bright spark, does ridiculous things for a 26 yo woman who is being trailed plus eventually you really do not care why someone is after her or who that is.

I got to the last 20 pages or so hoping it would get better, but I was wrong - I couldn't finish it as I really was not interested in anything else but finding a better book to read. I don't think that I will be getting another of Kellerman's books if this is what they are like, thank goodness I never actually bought it!

If you are looking for excellent thrillers try anything at all from James Patterson or Michael Connelly..you will not be disappointed , unlike this book.

Summary: Stalker by Faye Kellerman
Review: If you like stories about police, Stalker is one you don't want to miss. If you are a women's rights advocate, Stalker will be an exceptional book.

Cindy Decker is a first-year rookie and a woman. To make matters worse, her father has been on the force for years and, of course, some of her co-workers believe she is favored because of his position.

As Cindy works the streets, partnered with a veteran, she becomes embroiled in a crime that will eventually put her in a position of exposing dirty cops. Her life becomes a nightmare as someone begins to follow her every move and creates a pattern of threatening notes and incidents.

She can believe and trust in no one and must rely on her own judgment and police training to get her through. The story builds to a harrowing ending with split second timing and lightening speed required to come out alive.

Summary: Good story, New Plot, Character Problems
Review: I actually really enjoyed this book. I had problems with Cindy, but really like Kellermans attempt to start going a different route. I was actually getting tired of Peter and Rina. They get to be just to goody-goody. Cindy did act stupid and did stupid things, but then a Ivy League degree doesnt mean people don't do stupid things when they are twenty five. Was confused about the multistory line with both carjackers, but still so much better than Moon Music. I would not mind seeing a story primarily based on Marge and her new daughter. They actually seem to have a lot of depth and room to grow.

Summary: Yet Another Disappointing Book
Review: I have read Faye Kellermans books but Stalker was not a good one. Cynthia was bad news for a female cop with a college Degree. She was a total child in this book play acting as a female cop. Come on Kellerman you can do better. Sorry Folks I am 48 not under 13. oops did I write my review in the wrong place?

Summary: An Ivy League Brat
Review: It's hard to believe that Cynthia Decker is really 25, not 15, given the immaturity she displays. We are told that she is a graduate of an Ivy League college, but, oddly, she is not smart enough to keep her head down and her mouth shut during her important rookie period. This book lacks a center. I missed Peter and Rina; I missed the focus which Orthodox Judaism lent to the early books in the series.

Summary: disappointed
Review: I've read many of Faye Kellermans books, but I just couldn't get into this one. I kept waiting for something to happen and, well,it never did. I gave up on it more than 3/4 through.

Summary: The Stalker
Review: I have enjoyed all of the preceeding books by both Kellermans. In this case, however, I found myself wishing someone would simply kill Cindy and get it over with. I would have much preferred dealing with Peter and Rina's grief over Cindy's death than enduring her attitude and behavior. I sincerely hope that Ms. Kellerman brings much, much more maturity and depth to Cindy's character in the next episode. Until then, "Cindy-the Cop" is an idea gone very, very wrong!!

Summary: Stalker
Review: Well written as are all of her books, however the one weakness is that she makes the rookie daughter appear as an idiot to assist her plot.
