Summary: Had a few good twists to the story.
Review: This book started out a little slow, and at times it was hard to keep track of who was who because all the characters seemed to intermingle so much (along with changing names and using false names). However, as the book progressed it was this intermingling of characters that kept you wondering how the book was going to end. Everybody was plotting against everybody else and you didn't know who was going to live, who was going to end up dead, and who was going to end up with 'the cup'. All in all, it wasn't a bad read.

Summary: Hoping for More Hope
Review: This most recent Matthew Hope novel is the best in the series. Ed McBain, mystery master, has developed a story involving personal agendas, a dead body washing ashore, and a complicated theft. It also features McBain's other protagonist, Steve Carella, in a crucial role. I've always enjoyed this series. McBain does a solid job with his Florida setting. His Hope series is great! I'm hoping for more!

Summary: Intriguing plot but disappointing ending
Review: Well written and fast paced. I usually love these stories, but as exciting as the ending started off, the payoff was abrupt and unbelievable.
