Rating: Summary: ...Alright... Review: I must admit, I haven't read Rain, skimmed through Eye of the Storm, and read End of the Rainbow... but I haven't read the Cutler series, so I am a little confued on how this book is just like it.... Im currently going from begining to end... I read the Attic series, and the first two Casteel books. I read this book a while ago, so I forgot a few details... Anyways, I've read over twenty books of Andrews, but I must say.... this book is a copy. You mught as well scan one book, put a new title on it, and try to call it something different!! Incest by her thought-to-be brother??! Please!!! Close your legs!! Why are all these girls so weak and eager to have sex, especially with brothers?? They say they are resisting in the book, but, ummm, no, they aren't! I just dont like the incest, and average girls dont have sex with their brothers! Sorry.... Anyways, it was downright OK, not good, not bad, OK! I like learning about London, and her uncle or whatever was sooo weird! That stuff I like, the gothic darkness... and that little weak maid Mary Lou or something... wow! That bustler (Bogs?) was like a regular V.C. character, nice... But I must say... these girls need to forget their family problems... I mean, my dad's mom cheated on her husband with his best friend, and had my dad, and he didnt find out until he was twenty three.... but he didnt go searching for his birth parents!! Why are they so important, if they cared, they'd let you know!!! My dad says blood may be thick... but who your known-to-be-parents are the REAL thing! They raised you!! Who cares who gave birth to you??? A suggestion, can on girl be strong, have no brother who "can't look at other girls without seeing their faces instead" and not go "in search of their BLOOD realitives" becuase if they wanted you, they'd let you know!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: A great book! Review: I really enjoyed this book. I could'nt put it down. This book is different from the rest of the Hudson's because she is in London and there is sort of a mystery eith the secret cabin. I highly recommend this book to anybody even if the are not a V.C. Andrews fan. Be sure to read Rain first.
Rating: Summary: Good Series Review: I have read all of the V C Andrews books, except for the first series that was put out by her. I have loved every book so far. And I am looking forwarded to the future books that she puts out!! Every time that I go to the store I look for her books, now I know when the next ones are coming out and I will be sure to get them too. I have other people addicted to her books now and we share them.
Rating: Summary: Something borrowed, Something new Review: Well, this series is just like the Cutler series. Despite it being so predictable I did like the fact that there was some new diversity. Although I didn't like how the darker sister (Benny or Benji) was villianized in the first book, but that's just my pet peeve and I really don't expect anything different when it's written from an outsider's perspective. Anyway, I resent the fact that the ghostwriter(s) can't seem to let these girls be anything except dancers, painters or singers. It's like saying that the only thing that a desirable innocent girl can do is something in the cultural arts. Why can't these women be fiercly intellectual? The only ones who are smart, are the unattractive and evil ones. I don't want to say only negative things, because I do feel that the series had improved... a little. Hopefully, somebody is paying attention to the posts, so the readers can get something more substantial.
Rating: Summary: The Most Intriguing Book Ever By April Riddle From USA Review: " Lightning Strikes " is a book that will always be in my memory. It is a very good book that describes a girls life from the ghetto to a rich family. It continues to tell us about her life and the struggles that she goes through. It will touch your hearts and make you feel a lot of sympathy for the girl Rain. It is so interesting that once you get into the book you will not want to put it down. It is written by a very talented person writing under the name of V.C. Andrews. It is a compassionate book that will make you laugh and cry. I love the way the plot is layed out. It takes you in direction, and just when you think one thing's going to happen something totally different does. I would recommend this book to anyone to read. There is no certain person that should read this book, I think everyone would enjoy it. I love the book, and if you decide to read it, I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did. It is an unforgettable story.
Rating: Summary: would really rate it 3.5 Review: i enjoyed this one, but i always say if you've read one v.c andrews story, you've read them all. just curious though, did anyone else catch the continuity error between "rain" and "lightning strikes?" near the end of "rain" she flies off to be with her beloved, dying Mama. at the beginning of this one, as jake is driving her to the airport to depart for london, she tells him she has never flown before. hmmmmmmmm? still an okay read. as usual she's perfect and everyone around her is sick and perverted and out to get her. just what we're looking for in a v.c. andrews book. i hope they never change.
Rating: Summary: 5 Stars Review: The fact is that whether you like this book or not is soley based upon your personal opinion..So please do not be too turned off by the negative reviews for this book..Because all they are are personal opinions as well!! I myself think that this Book is entertaining and dark and everything that I love about VcAndrews Stories..I do admit that the Ghostwriter's style is different from Virgina Andrews but there is certainly no need for complaining....I was honestly surprised at the twists in this story. I hope this helps the interested reader....Not to persuay one way or another,But to encourage that he or she reads it and judges it for themselves!!(And hopefully enjoys it some!!)
Rating: Summary: It goes to show...... Review: Lightning Strikes is the best book that I have read out of the whole Hudson series. To not read this book and read the others would be completely out of context. Enjoy it, laugh, and just remember how easy your life is compared to Rain's.
Rating: Summary: Lighting Strikes and then some...... Review: I have read V.C. Andrews books since the very begining, and her death just made me love her even more. For some apparant reason I could not understand the brother/sister relationship. It was too in-dept, too rare, and too real, it made me wonder, would V.C. Andrew still be writing like this today if she was alive or not. The book cover draws me into buying the book, especially the eyes, the week and lonely eyes, but I was surprised on this one girl by the name of "Rain". An interracial relationship-turned sour, an inter-city kid overcoming it all from being poor to finding out who she really was and becoming rich, and rich she got, of course, her mother (unaccepting) wants it all, no matter the cost, her so- call brother in love with her, a hard in the begining (surprise, surprise) grandmother, to the sweet and caring woman and lets not forget the secrets, oh the secrets. Uncle memories on his daugter, and aunt urge of being the perfect wife, by rocking a doll, trust me it get better. All in all lighting do strikesn in all the same places. Sex, lies, secret,a true V.C. Andrews book.
Rating: Summary: This was okay, but nothing to brag about Review: After reading RAIN, I was hoping and thinking that the next book in the series would be a lot better, but I didn't see that much of an improvment. Like another reviewer said, all this book was about was Rain's journey's in London and how she felt about life, and how she felt sorry for herself and so on and so on. I'm not saying it was completely bad because it did have a few twists and turns, but nothing that was amazingly shocking. I guess if you want to know about Rain's aspects on things, and not much else, this book would be good for you.
