Summary: A great abirdged version of a great classic!!!!
Review: This book told Joan of Arc's story in an easy, but yet fun and enchanting way. Joan of Arc's story has always amazed me, but hearing about it was nothing compared to this way of reading the classic. I say that this book was definitly one of the best books I've read, and obviously the best abridged classic I ever have read.

Summary: Mark Twain's BEST book ever!!!!!!!!!
Review: This inspiring book introduced me to the thrilling life of St. Joan of Arc. I am only in sixth grade and I loved it!! I laughed, I cried, I couldn't put it down, then shared the richness of this classic book with the rest of my family. My Dad and I are now reading it out loud. Joan's heroism, trust in God, and purity of heart have inspired me to become a better Christian. An absolute must-read!!!!!!

Summary: The scholarship holds up ...
Review: This is just one of several books that I've read about the amazing short life of Jeanne d'Arc, "La Poucelle d'Orleans," more familiarly known as "Joan of Arc." Twain's research holds up well against more recent studies such as those by Regine Pernod.

Yes, Twain's "Joan" seems incredible and something other than human. Yet, his projection is not that far from the historical record, which by reason of the records of her trials is one of the most detailed ever collected on one individual. The more I read about Jeanne the more I tend to agree with the old curmudgeon pessimist that Twain was: she was the most extraordinary person the human race has ever produced.

Summary: Should be read by all entering corporate life-what to expect
Review: This story is similar to my experiences in corporate life. You enter naive and work to master your trade. You make a fortune for the employer who finally deserts you and allows you to be burnt at the stake (fired for old age)

Summary: Hippy Dippy And Uninteresting
Review: Ugh. I got this book expecting to read about a courageous young girl and what I got was just a boring account on how sugary sweet and hippy dippy she was. Somehow I don't think the real Joan Of Arc was as disgustingly coy and naive as Mr. Twain has portrayed her. The book dragged on and on. It was also very uninteresting and I would have gotten more entertainment out of reading my neighbor's grocery list.
