Summary: Best, most-concise theology book I've ever read.
Review: When people ask me what I believe, I always refer them to this book as the best summary of my "statement of faith."

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Perhaps one of the best modern Christian volumes
Review: Dr Packer guides the reader in a humble pursuit in understanding and knowing our Lord. As he says himself, "Our aim in studying the Godhead must be to know God himself better." This book carries truth and I found it to be quite edifying. Also recommended, Packer's 'Evangelsim and the Sovereignty of God'. 5 stars as well.

Summary: Deep and thoughtful book about who God is
Review: Packer has written a book here that is deeper than 90% of the books out there on theology. This books makes us take a serious look at who God is. This includes God's unchanging nature, God's majesty, God wisdom, love, grace, judgment, wrath and goodness and jealousy. Packer makes the statement that there is a big difference between knowing about God and knowing God. A key quote for me would be on page 41 "What matters supremely, therefore, is not, in the last analysis, the fact that I know God, but the larger fact which underlies it-the fact that he knows me." You'll be reading this book over and over again and getting new info out of it each time.

Summary: Hard to draw on practical experiences
Review: After reading this book I closed it and had a hard time relating this information to my own life. I typically dont read books for my own selfish applications, it's just that I found this book hard to follow. Maybe its me.

Summary: Packer gets back to the basics of Christianity!
Review: This was an outstanding book. I have only read it once, but I have plans to read it over and over again. I want to take each chapter and chew on it for awhile, so that I can make it become a part of my very being. I was really struggling with my understanding of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit...Packer clarified it with simplicity. Thank you Packer for allowing God to speak through you.

Summary: This book takes "know the Lord" from concept to reality.
Review: If there is one book I've read in the last ten years that ought to become a Christian classic, this is it! More than revitalizing your Christian life, it shows even the most mature believer what the Christian life is all about in the first place.

Summary: Great for new Christians and those in crisis!
Review: This is an extremely encouraging and edifying book, especially for those without a lot of knowledge about God, or for those in a lot of pain.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: If you have to hand a friend one book, hand him this one!
Review: Most books carry "baggage" of one sort or another. "Knowing God" is the most concise, baggage-free treatment of Christianity for the man on the street that I have seen. Warning! Only for people who actually think!
