Rating: Summary: A great place to start! Review: I am currently entering college and I have a dream of some day becoming a floor trader on the futures exchanges in Chicago. Before I read this book I only had a vague idea about what it would be like and thanks to this book I have a much better idea. His book is very informative and hard to put down. What I appreciated about the book was that he did not get too technical with his methedology, there are tons of books that explain how to use indicators and technical information, but Buzzy's book lets the reader "feel" what is it's like to trade.
Rating: Summary: OK read but not much insight into becoming a trader. Review: By turns humorous, vulgar, scatological and even touching, I found that I learned more about the author and his love for his wife that I did about trading. An interesting read, but don't expect to learn much about how to trade the markets from the book.
Rating: Summary: Must read for all traders Review: Marty Schwartz is a champion trader, and this is a "champion" book!
Rating: Summary: The best book ever written by a dad! Review: This book was written by a brillant, new author. He is outstanding at capturing the moment in words, you feel as if this is really you or that you are really there watching it all take place.
Rating: Summary: All traders and gamblers can relate to this book! Review: If you have every been at a blackjack table, craps table, got caught in a short squeeze, or had an option expire you will know exactly what Martin Schwartz is talking about. I kept saying, " been there, done that." Only not quite to the extent that Schwartz has. It is all about the thrill of the hunt. He is very good at sharing his emotions and making the reader feel as though he were there. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Thrilling Review: There are three must be read books on financial markets: "Reminiscences of a Stock Operator" by Lefevre, "Market Wizards" by Schwager, and Buzzy's. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Bing-Bang-Boom. Schwartz Rocks the House with this Winner! Review: The most entertaining and enlightning book on the ups and downs of the trading life in print. Reality based, yet always entertaining, this account reads with the speed of quickness. Definitely required reading for anyone involved in trading or considering entering the arena. Buy it. Read it and Use it. A real gem. Thanks Buzzy!
Rating: Summary: Great read Review: Martin "Buzzy" Schwartz bares his soul on the ups and downs he has encountered as a trader. Like the books "Market Wizards", I couldn't seem to put it down. If you are looking for the holy grail in technical analysis, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a very entertaining read about the trading life, this is the book for you. He gives you the emotions involved, along with some sound tidbits on money management. I trade in the markets for a living, and truly enjoyed his candor...you will too.
Rating: Summary: Worthless and offensive Review: If you have a "groupie" personality then you will probably like this book; however, if you are an independent thinker (absolutely necessary to be a successful trader) then you will almost certainly hate it.It is absolutely worthless as far as learning anything useful about trading, although it is informative as a study in egomania in the extreme. Studies, as well as my thirty plus years of experience in the futures trading business, show that the overwhelming majority of individual traders end up losing (as many as ninety percent or more). I am convinced that anyone who likes this book has the wrong personality type to end up a winner. Only a celebrity worshipper would like this offensive piece of garbage. To be a successful trader you have to be able to think for yourself and be capable of acting on your own. No independent thinker could like this book. The fact that so many apparently did like it is one good reason why so many traders end up losing: most people are born followers, unable to think and act independently. Followers, celebrity worshippers and groupies simply do not make good traders. I have never met Mr. Schwartz, but if this book is an accurate depiction of him I hope I never do. For his sake I hope he has matured and grown as a human being since he wrote it, and is now profoundly embarassed by it.
Rating: Summary: Interested in becoming a trader --> read this!!! Review: Overall I thought this book was an excellent read and kept me turning pages rapidly from start to finish. I would recommend this piece of material for anyone interested in going into the business of trading as well as to get a better understanding of the trading environment. You will not find many hard textbook like numbers or calculations in this book but it contains a feeling or taste of what the mysterious trading world is all about.
