Summary: A review to give this book some justice.
Review: A good friend of mine who will be going on a TeenMania trip and spending a year at the Honor Academy lent me this book a couple weeks go. I just finished it and wanted to write a review because I don't think this book deserved one star like the other review on this site gave it. I think that the strongest part of this book is Ron Luce's comparison, especially in the beginning of the book, of the world's way and God's way. He provides many concrete examples that are easy to follow. The main message throughout the book of just keeping God's way in your mind more than the world's way is the most important message to get out this book. Even though I may or may not agree with all of Luce's various other points throughout the book, I found it interesting to read all of his view points because a lot of what he's saying has a lot of credibility. Although the end of the book does seem like a pitch for Teen Mania's trips and conventions and whatnot more than anything, I think you should be able to see past that because you can still get a lot out of this book.

Summary: Ron Luce is an excellent writer
Review: I believe that Ron Luce is an excellent author. He has inspired me over and over again with his words. Every time I read Live God Loud, I feelinspired all over again. My friend who loaned me his book got me hooked onto his passion for God. The way he put our lives into words was amazing. Every problem we could face in our teenage years has been mentioned wonderfully in Live God Loud! I believe that this is his best book that he has written, but I haven't read all of his books yet

Summary: opened my eyes
Review: My eyes were really opened by the things this man had to write. (...) The advice and guidance is in no way judgemental or narrow-minded, but God inspired. God has revealed the same thing to me, and this man is just trying to encourage us.
He never says "don't be friends with non-Christians" and tells the reader what to do like authority. JESUS HUNG OUT WITH NON-CHRISTIANS FOR GOODNESS SAKES! He is just pointing out that WE ARE WHO WE ARE FRIENDS WITH...and our closest, most intimate friends need to be Christ-like (or striving to be) and encouraging, not alcoholics!!
I'll guarantee that you will definitely feel GOOD after reading this. READ IT!

Summary: Live God Loud
Review: Some chapters in this book offer excellent advice and guidance to teenagers. However, as one reads further, some of the messages become stranger and even contradictory. For example, Luce suggests that teens date only Christians. Then he advises not to date at all, because teenage love is "small time love" and will only cause heartbreak. The chapter on peer pressure begins with advice to stay away from teens who are drinking, doing drugs, and other bad things. Luce then begins to include other people to avoid, such as "half-hearted Christians" and ones who do not practice religion exactly as you. Teens are being encour- aged to be judgemental. The last section of the book is dedicated to how a teen can make a difference in the world. After criticizing several worth- while causes, Luce begins to blatently advertise his Teen Mania mission trips. Overall, this book is manipulating and attempts to market Ron Luce's Teen Mania/Acquire the Fire ministries. This man could teach a marketing seminar.
