Summary: This is Sandra Brown!?
Review: After reading loads of her current books, I slowly found myself going back into time to read her more older books, and boy were they old! More sappy and happy endings, not much suspense, lacked in plot. I kept thinking, "This is the pre-Sandra Brown?! IS this even her writing?"

Even though this book was simple compared to her power packed contemporary trash, this was quite lovely.

Summary: A Widow and a Bachelor
Review: Elizabeth Burke is the owner of the store Fantasy, she has two kids and her husband has been dead for 2 years.

Thad Randolph is a bachelor who lives next to Elizabeth. He moved into his house about the time after Elizabeth's husband was killed.

Elizabeth and Thad never really said anything to each other except for the occasional hellos. This all changed when Elizabeth rescued a cat from the tree and ended up getting stuck on top of the tree. Thad kind of saved her by guiding her down. Elizabeth and Thad then begins to get drawn together partly because of Elizabeth's kids but also something else because they always happen to see each other.

But then there are obstacles for them to overcome, like Elizabeth's fear of people gossiping about her and Thad, Thad's bachelorhood and all these other issues.

I think Fanta C. is kind of mild, compared to Adam's Fall. Too bad I read Adam's Fall first because it goes after Fanta C. and it kinda killed some of my interest. (Adam's Fall is Elizabeth's sister's story about her love life) But all in all, Fanta C isn't bad. There are sweet parts and parts that I think Elizabeth is being too much of a prude.

I rate this book about a 4.5

Summary: Fun and enjoyable
Review: Fanta C is one of SB's more charming romances. Whilst the characters aren't as strong as some of SB's other books, there are lots of fun moments, and the fantasies written by the lead character Elizabeth, as silly as they are, are pure decedence. An indulgent read.

Summary: Fast, funny, and cute with some sensual moments.
Review: I first read this book when it was published as a Loveswept title in the late 80's. The story has stayed with me and I usually read it during flights or long appointment stays, etc. I can no longer find my original copy. Elizabeth owns a wonderful shop called Fantasy. Her sister (whose story follows in "Adam's Fall) always tries to get her to lighten up - even getting her a vanity license plate. I really do not want to give too much of the plot away, but it is a fast and fun read. Ms Brown has come a long way from her formula days, but for a good short story, this one is great.

Summary: This is hot cosy stuff to read
Review: I loved this book. This is one of the first ones I've read and I still love it! I'm following up with Adam's Fall and I hope it'll be as good as Fanta C. I loved it. Elizabeth got annoying a little with her properness, but I think there are such people. In the end she relaxed a little in my opinion.

Summary: A great romantic read!
Review: Loved it! This book put a smile on my face. The book covered all the emotions that make for a good romance. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Can't wait to start another one of Ms. Brown's books.

Summary: THIS is what summer romance novels were meant to be!!
Review: This book was the first romance novel I ever read, and to this day, after reading dozens of other novels, remains one of my all-time favorites. This is one of Sandra's older books before she went mainstream and did that horrid murder/suspense stuff. This is pure, sensual trashy summer reading at its best! The plot is charming, but the characters didn't really light up (Elizabeth's facade of primness and properness is a little annoying) Then again, who cares? The best scenes in the novel are the sex scenes! (The title says it all) If you're looking for some good dirty fun, this is definitely a must-read! P.S. You should read Adam's Fall afterwards, which follows up on Adam and Lilah, the heroine's sister, the best characters in the book.
