Summary: If you need help - this is the book to get.
Review: I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up your new book "Get Healthy Now" by Gary Null. It's such a thick book with so much information. I was pleased to see a large section of the book listing alternative practitioners across the country. So many different problems are covered but I found the section on cancer therapies so interesting. Not only did it cover the therapies but in went into such detail about Dr. Burzynski and how he came to develop his antineoplastins which reprogram the cells into "good" cells. This is fascinating stuff. In the cancer section it also covered other forms of cancer treatments which are down to earth and practical. This book covers so many different subjects about health it will take me a long time to cover all this valuable information. I heartily recommend "Get Healthy Now" to everyone interested in good health.

Summary: It's Gary's best yet!
Review: I've been a fan of Gary's for the last five years. This is his best book to date. The information is invaluable in helping you live a healthier and more productive life. Everyone should get it.

Summary: A lot of money and a waste of paper
Review: I've heard about Gary Null for so long that I thought, as someone committed to alternative health, I should know what he's about. Well now I know: and believe me, save your money. A poorly written mishmash full of half-truths more damaging to our movement than it is helpful. Vague advice, at times contradictory: really, hard to believe this was written by an "expert." Shame on PBS for promoting this trash!

Summary: Lots of content, informative, but Gary backs off big-time.
Review: If you've listened to Gary Null's radio program, you know he tells it like it is. He goes in depth on every topic he speaks about and that's what I love about him. Why he doesn't do that in his books is a good question.

This book is chock full of information. You can find information on pretty much any ailment, any herb, food, etc. But the information on each subject is extremely limited. Also, the information he gives out on these topics isn't his own. Most of the time, it's Gary writing on someone else's opinion. For example, on ulcers, he said "Martin Feldman, MD, recommends..." Most of the information and advice in this book is not his own. Why he did this, I do not know.

I'm a huge Gary Null fan, but not a big fan of his books. This book could be a lot better, for sure. Not to say it isn't helpful, it is. But I feel that he didn't approach this book with the same go-getting enthusiasm he puts into his radio program and lectures. I long for the day he puts that kind of effort and hard hitting information into one of his books.

Summary: Go Gary Go!
Review: In the acknowledgments in my book Personal Renewal, I called Gary Null "alternative health's freedom fighter." In his books, videos and radio programs, he insists on solid research data delivered in crisp, clear language. This new expertly written, encyclopedic book shows us that his battle has been won. He has encorporated a vast store of practical information from a variety of sources. He does not have to convince anyone: Alternative medicine is the only way to sensibly protect your health.

Summary: The Seminal Work in its Field
Review: In this seminal guide to health and nutrition, Dr. Gary Null shows why he is the leading expert in his field. This is the definitive guide to alternative and natural treatments for disease. Eschewing the toxic pharmaceutical approach to treating symptoms, Dr. Null's encyclopedic guide delves into the all natural approach to treating the causes of illness, disease, and aging. This consists of Dr. Null's highly developed knowledge of the natural herbal and nutritional remedies to a host of health problems. It is no wonder that this NY Times bestseller is the best in its field.

Summary: Snake oil for sale
Review: Let me first say that I am an unlikely reviewer to be so hostile to this type of book; I am extremely committed to healthy food choices, environmentally sound policies, and all the basic values Gary Null ostensibly embraces. I have no problem with Null's basic premise that we should consume a fresh, non-processed, plant-based diet(although some studies have concluded that those who supplement their food with some fish and dairy products are healthier), buy organic food when at all possible, and avoid toxic household products. But I am totally outraged by Gary Null's voodoo nutrition approach to these legitimate issues. I bought the book and promptly returned it because it was so filled with woozy-new age drivel and devoid of reliable references to support the more controversial points. We don't need any more evidence that a plant-based diet low in trans-fats is healthier than eating at McDonalds. This book adds NOTHING legitimate to the basic health information you can obtain from any reliable print or internet source, and is far inferior to, for instance, "The Food Pharmacy" by Jean Carper, in which virtually every statement of fact is supported by one or more scientific references. Save your money and buy some nice fresh organic produce!

Summary: Don't Blame the Patient
Review: Mr. Null (and I use "Mr." purposely) is indeed from another planet. I am a cancer survivor - several times over. According to Mr. Null, my getting cancer is my fault. Thank you, sir. It's not enough trying to deal with the disease, now you make it my fault for getting it. If you're looking for a good book on nutrition, look elsewhere. This guy is way out of line in many areas. After seeing him on PBS, I had to see if he was really saying what I thought I heard. He is. He is saying you are to blame for anything that ails you. Whatever is wrong with you, you are to blame. His superior attitude comes across in his writing and he presents his half-baked theories as if they were tenets from a magnificent faith. This book is self-aggrandizment on a monumental level.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: You can fool many people a lot of the time.
Review: Mr. Null is a charismatic scientifically sounding individual, but a quack nonetheless. His PhD is a fake. His "studies" and sources are not to be believed, and any of his advice that sounds too good to be true almost certainly is. For a comparison read Real Age if you want a factual account of how to improve your health.
