Review: I loved: "Tully". Red Leaves is an unbelievably great book. Ms. Simon's characters are taken from life. This particular novel is set at college, about four friends and the choices they make. The novel is shocking, sad and achingly funny. Headlines ripped from today's real world.

Summary: Cornwallesque!
Review: I overheard a book store employee recommending this novel to a customer, saying it was similar to Patricia Cornwall's work. Why not give it a try? It turns out to be an excellent page-turner about the lives of four Dartmouth College students and the tragedy that unfolds. You feel the green and white of the Dartmouth campus in the dead of winter. The author's setting the table of the surroundings is at a high level. If you're looking for something a bit different, give Red Leaves a read.

Summary: a struggle which almost turned out to be worth it.
Review: I received this book as a gift, i had never heard of the author and i admit, i probably would not have bought it myself, had i picked it up in the bookshop and read the synopsis on the back cover. I found it to be very irritating to begin with, giving alot of unnecessary attention to redundant detail, i didn't enjoy the style of writing at all. But as i got into it (it took me a week to finish it) i did warm to Kristina and the story behind it and was eager to read on to findout what happens. However I found the ending to be bitterly disappointing. I thought the developments in the characters occurred too late to make it credible and only served to make the writer look like she was rushing to finish the story.

Review: I was anxious to read the latest book by Paullina Simons, the author of Tully, and it didn't disappoint! Finding out who murdered Kristina Kim becomes secondary to learning about the details of her mysterious life. Kristina, like Tully, is a strong young woman who makes no apologies for her unorthodox life. Red Leaves is also very similar to Donna Tartt's The Secret Language so I think anyone who enjoyed it or Tully will love this book as well.

These youngsters in Red Leaves, Kristina, Constance, Albert and Jim felt like my family, or they could have been my children for that matter. I felt especially close to Kristina, the main character as I felt her pain and her cold lonliness. With a cleverly crafted detective storyline, it has the capacity to keep you up all night long until you've turned the last page. After you've turned that last page, you can't get those characters out of your head. If you haven't bought it yet........get it.......it's worth every penny. Thanks Ms Simons

Summary: A real!!-page-turner!!! I could not put it down!!
Review: It was a believable story that could have happened on any college campus. There was a driving force to finish this book, so you would know the truth-eventually! The characters were real and exciting. You really wanted to know them. Krissy was someone-you hated at one time, and loved the next. I could not stop reading it! I had to know what was going to happen next! Now, I just want to read more books by Simons. She is great! This book would make a great movie.

Summary: Enthralling listening pleasure
Review: Listening to the audio version of "Red Leaves" was both exciting and disturbing. While the plot is reminiscent of Tartt's "Secret History," it is much more of a pyschological mystery. Simons leaves you wanting more and more and at times, the pace seems achingly slow... I kept thinking... hurry up and speak faster - I want to know what's going on! This is one book that is better on tape than it is reading -- a definite "page turner!"

Review: My first taste of Paullina's work was Eleven Hours. I had to read more so I read Tully and Red Leaves. What a versatile writer! All three books are intriguing but different. Red Leaves does kill one of it's most intriguing characters early in the story; however, I was only impelled to read on. I was surprised at this unusual plotline, but I found it very effective in this instance. Enjoyed the book immensely.
