Rating: Summary: Inspiring! Review: Not the usual glitzy Hollywood bio! Sincere and honest with a depth that goes past the usual rags to riches story. A real triumph! Love the irreverent but accurate retelling of "Southern Manners". If you are from the South you'll appreciate it! I only wish I could know more of what happened to Brett after the pages of the book were written.

Rating: Summary: Yawn............... Review: OK, I know who Ms. Butler is, a stand up comedien who had a short lived sit-com on TV.(Which I loved) That said, have I missed something? At least 25% of this book is the writer explaining what a BIG STAR she is, and how it affects every aspect of her life. Then there is a long, long, narrative explaining what a facinating and extraordinary life she has led. Then, her life story. I kept going to the end waiting for the facinating and extraordinary parts, but apparantly I missed those too. I found myself knee deep in boredom.
Rating: Summary: A touching and triumphant book by a talented woman Review: This book will surprise you. Anyone who watches "Grace Under Fire" or Brett Butler's stand-up specials knows how brilliant an actress and comic she is. But this book shows how magnificent a writer she is. Vividly recalling her past Brett writes poetic phrases that touch you in ways more straightforward prose does not. She mentions in this book how she's always wanted to be a writer and since her talent is a given there is no doubt that she could be successful if she tries it after this.
