Rating:  Summary: kendras view Review: This rhyming book has many twist and turns. The story begins with a boy and his sister Sally cleaning up the snowy drive way. Then along comes the cat in the hat, the main character. The cat invites himself into their home. When he goes into the tub and eats a cake with pink icing. He leaves and awful pink ring in the tub. As the story goes on the cat trys to cleanthe spot up but it keeps getting on everything. Until, the cat in the hat calls for help from little cats A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Y,Z. ... I enjoyed this rhyming book! though it was delightful,it is a tiring tounge twister. I believe this book is organized to help children learn about rhyming and the alphabet. I would reccommend this book to anyone with a small child, because it is a very good teaching tool and it is a classic story.

For a long book like this, he actually sits still and is mesmerized by the pictures and that Cat in his Hat. Dr. Seuss was pure genius in the craft of writing for young children and there are scores of generations that appreciate his works. Simple words, rhyming times, and eye catching antics of the cat are all the ingredients to what makes this story work. He's come back to visit the children from the first story, and proceeds to make a giant mess. We meet little cats A through Z, who are just as cute as can be. Then something called VOOM makes everything right. yes, it does. Then Mommy says goodnight. There is something about reviewing Dr. Seuss, that just makes me want to rhyme. This is a great addition to your child's collection of books for years to come!

Rating:  Summary: guns don't belong in toddler books Review: We bought this book without reading it because it didn't occur to us that anything would be objectionable. We returned it the next day after stopping half way while reading it to our 2 year old. the book is dated and reflects actions that at the time it was written were probably not considered objectionable. There is a graphic 2 page spread involving the widespread use of popguns and red splotches. Hopefully, a child who is at this read-aloud level should not yet have been exposed to guns at all and if they have, every attempt should be made to limit that exposure and to make sure that guns are not presented in any validating format. Regardless of one's opinions on gun control, guns are very dangerous and should only be used under very limited circumstances and in the hands of a skilled user. They are not toys and given today's American culture and media, should not be presented as such.
Rating:  Summary: the Greatest book that i have ever read. that hat cat! Review: well, i don't know what some of you may think, but the cat in the hat comes back is truly magnificent. little cat a and b and c! by the end, you too will be in the land of pink cakes and $10.00 shoes (supposedly expensive) and most of all, that hat wearing cat. the idea is sheer brilliance! it isn't far from genius.
