Rating: Summary: Touching? Sounds like a show to me... Review: Although this book gives some good insights into the Rabin family and the murder, I hate to say it, but it feels like it was written for the money. I understand that she is a granddaughter, but it is no excuse for the extreme melodramaticism and tangible hatred...I came out from reading the book with a very bad taste in my mouth! Sorry!

Rating: Summary: An excellent book for all ages about modern Israeli life Review: I enjoyed this book so much that I bought it for our Lutheran church library. What made me read this book in the first place was the moving eulogy Noa gave at her grandfather's funeral. In front of heads of state, the Israeli government representatives and family, Noa spoke not of her grandfather as prime minister, but what he meant to her as a sabba--he and Mrs. Rabin raised Noa, so Rabin was actually like a father to her. The book is divided into several sections--the assassination and its aftermath, Noa's life, and what it is like to be an Israeli teenager today--very like American living except with compulsory military service and the threat of war always hanging over your head. She calls for world peace. This is an excellent book for teens because it gives them a down-to-earth, real-life story of a young woman in the middle of one of the more important families in political history. I applaud her for writing this story of her life, told touchingly and often humorously. A fine young woman.
Rating: Summary: The best book you could ever imagine Review: I read this book for a school project and it made such an impact on me. I think that Ms. Artzi-Pelossof is an incredible author and I think she is so brave for being able to write about her grandfather. Thank you, Noa!
Rating: Summary: An amazing book Review: I was 15 when Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated. I remember the great sorrow that was shown in the newspapers and on the television. No one could believe it had happened. Yitzhak Rabin has always been of great interest to me, and this wonderful book tells an amazing and courageous story. Noa Ben Artzi-Pelossof, Rabin's only granddaughter, tells the story of her grandfather's life as she saw it. She refers to Rabin throughout the book as Saba, the Hebrew word meaning Grandpa. Some of the tales she tells are quite humerous; others are heart-wrenching. Some might say that this biography is likely to be biased, as it is written by someone who was extremely close to the subject; whether it is or it isn't (I personally believe the latter), this is a book well worth reading. It is the story of a soldier, a politician, a world leader, and most improtantly, a devoted grandfather. A truly wonderful piece of literature, worthy of a five-star rating.

Rating: Summary: A moving memoir and tribute Review: Noa Ben Artzi-Pelossof is a terrific writer. This book helps the reader get a sense of what Prime Minister Rabin was like as a person, and persuasively argues for pursuing peace despite the most difficult of challenges.
Rating: Summary: Touching, the best book I've ever read Review: Noa is my role model. I know she is only a few years older than me, but I really look up to her. Her work in the army, her writing and her deep relationship with her family and her grandfather, were really something for all of us to aspire to reach. She has done a phenominal job in her writing. I am visiting Israel this summer. i hope to bump into her inthe streets so I can tell her how much I admire her. Great book. PS. The photos are also amazing.
Rating: Summary: Touching, the best book I've ever read Review: This book described so well the situation in the middle east. It is a remarkable book. Yitzak Rabin gave his life for what is hopefully the begining of both arabs and jews coming together
Rating: Summary: Sentimenal Review: This book was defintely written by a person who has truly lost someone she loves..her grandfather. I come from a country where virtually any news on israel or her inhabitants is censored. So a book that introduces Yizthak Rabin, even as a loving husband, father and grandfather not to mention a great statesman is a book worth reading. Briefly, the author introduces you to her family generally and to her grandfather specifically giving you details on how the man was like seen through the eyes of his family. It touches on the peace process, the conflict in the middle-east and even the military life that young israelis go through. All in all, I would recommend it for an easy read although I must warn all readers that this book might inspire you to find our more about Mr. Yitzhak Rabin and what he stood for.
