Summary: One of the Best books I've ever read!
Review: This is by far the best book I've read this year! I'm already eagerly awaiting the next book and advise everyone in the meantime to read this book! It's absolutely amazing!!! Two thumbs way, way up for Christopher Paolini!

Summary: U Wont put it down
Review: It's very difficult to describe the book Eragon simply because there is nothing else like it (I mean this in a good way). I would have to say Eragon is most like a cross between Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings (And I mean this as the highest compliment).

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A classic
Review: A finely imagined tale of fantasy, legend, dragons, elves, good guys and bad guys, and growing up. Eragon has all the classic elements of a great fantasy story.

I read the first edition of Eragon a year ago and wanted to see what Knopf would do with it. I re-read the first edition and read the Knopf edition back to back. I like both!

I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Summary: Steer Clear
Review: Eragon was written for children. Laden with overdone cliches and unbelievable heroics straight out of a adolescent's imagination, it came as no surprise that the author is a young teenager. My suspension of disbelief cannot bear a sixteen year old boy becoming a master swordsman in six months time, without ever enduring a real fight. Or an ageless elven beauty falling in love with same boy. I was constantly asking myself where all the MEN in this book were hiding. Anyone looking for serious fantasy should avoid Eragon.

Summary: Highly recommended
Review: I cannot say enough good words about Eragon. Eragon is a page-turner from beginning to end. The author paints a vivid tale of magic, dragon, friendship, loyalty, villians, sacrifice, and an epic quest for justice.

Eragon, 5 stars plus

Summary: Amazing! Work of art!
Review: Before I begin: I had no clue that there was even a paperback version of this book, but while surfing the web I saw that this book was coming out on Hardcover, After reading the summary I thought it sounded good....

....but not this good! Eragon is about, as the shout line goes, 1 boy, 1 dragon, A world full of adventure. I recomend the book to anyone who likes HP or other books of that sort. For the details are incredible and (unlike HP) there's still a huge plot. I could not put this book down!

By the way. I also made a fan site (message board) of the Inheritance trilogy for anyone who wouldn't mind paying a visit.

Well thats all! I hope this helped you out!!

Summary: Not quite there
Review: Paolini has some storytelling merit, to be sure. Why else would his book be selling well? The plotline and characters are certainly interesting. But they're not interesting *enough*--I constantly found myself capable of reading a chapter, feeling more or less entertained, and then putting it down with absolutely no subconscious need to pick it up again. Whenever I did continue reading, I wasn't bored, but I also never felt the compulsion to finish. The story is too much of a cliche, and there is really nothing about Saphira or Eragon that seemed unique enough to pull them out of the stereotypical dragon or adolescent hero-kid of mass-produced fantasy novels. The writing itself was decent, but not great. But the book was also not so bad as to make me *not* recommend it to other viewers. In a nutshell, so-so.

Summary: An excellent read
Review: I can say that Eragon, Brom, Saphira, and Ayra are as real to me as those in real life. I think this book is just right. Me and my friends are passing around a beat up copy of Eragon. It may not last by the time it gets to the end of our summer school class.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Three-timer
Review: I just read Eragon for the third time and I love it! I can't wait for more.

Eragon has the right combination of action, story, and adventure. It is a believable tale.

Summary: IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Review: To start off, I must say that for his age, Christopher Paolini obviously has an innate talent for writing. I've always been a fantasy fan and enjoyed his book, "Eragon". But the thing that kept me from fully enjoying this novel is that I have found numerous words in Eragon, that have been taken from J.R.R. Tolkein's Lord of the Rings series, often having one or two letters changed. The words I've found in Eragon are in capitals and the comparison words I've found in Lord of the Rings are on the right.

IMILADRIS>Imladris

VANILOR>Valinor
ARDWEN>Arwen
CERANTHOR>Caranthir
BIERLAND>Beleriand
ISENSTAR>Isengaurd
MELIAN>Melian
MITHRIM>Mithrim
ISIDAR>Isildur
TURIN>Turin (note: the "u," in the right "Turin," has an accent)
ERAGON>ARAGORN (comparison in pronunciation)
Thank you
