Rating: Summary: This is a book to love and treasure! Review: How could anyone not love this book? It had everything, drama, love, true friendship excitement and best of all, a dog that was every bit as wonderful as the main characters. A wonderful book!
Rating: Summary: Simply wonderful even if read through special format Review: I am a great fan of Fern Michaels for she writes my kind of books--filled with love, adventure, challenge and loveable dogs! In FINDERS KEEPERS, all of the above are blended with skill, deep feeling, understanding and charm. I must read books recorded on 4-track tapes produced by the Library of Congress for visually impaired people. I am sure the edition used was unabridged.
Rating: Summary: not what i would have expected Review: I am normally an avid fan of fern michaels work but this book was a disappointment!! i felt like there was not enough insight into jessie roland's life as a child when being raised by her kidnapper parents and that also it tended to ramble on at times! There are some parts of the book that i enjoyed but this will not be a book i would choose to read again!
Rating: Summary: Please read C.A. Strickland's Review!!! Review: I don't know her/him, but that review was right on target! This was a story with so many plot twists thrown in that the author might just as well as thrown the kitchen sink in, too. The characters' personalities underwent such a change during the course of the story as to be totally unbelievable. It became tiring, rather than interesting, trying to keep up with what was going on. The ending just left me scratching my head - it was so rushed and out of left field, and so obviously a set-up for a sequel.I got the impression reading this book that the author was hoping that it would be made into a mini-series on TV - it had every possible hook thrown in. This was the first book that I read by Ms. Michaels, and it was a total waste of my time. I don't think that I'll be reading another of hers for a long time.
Rating: Summary: I Loved This Book! Review: I enjoyed this book so much.. it was my second Fern Michaels book, my first being the guest list. I really loved Finder's Keepers and I am on a mission to read every single one of her books. She is great! I hope there will be a conclusion to Finder's Keepers so we know what happened to Jessie later in life!
Rating: Summary: SHOCKER Review: I hated it, It was a fast read but too many plot changes. I never really got to know the characters. It made me depressed that Jessie never found love, its supposed to be a romance novel right????
Rating: Summary: A page turner you won't put down until the end. Review: I have always read Fern Michaels ever since I stole the first one out of my parents room at age 14. I found Finders Keepers to be one of her best. I couldn't put it down and it has you riding an emotional tidal wave from beginning to end. She has done it again and I look forward to her next book, as I always do. The friendship between the two women is what I look for in my friends. Once again, thank you Fern!!
Rating: Summary: Simply Stunning Review: I really enjoyed this book. That's all I can say. This is my first Fern Michaels book, and actually it is the cover that attracted me to it in the first place. Michaels really makes you understand the characters feelings. I felt as if I was there, getting to know Sophie. I could fully understand Jessie's feelings towards her mother, but I could also understand how the mother felt, and 'so-to-speak' sympathize with her. Michaels handles emotions excellently. I had wished the ending was different, but if it was maybe it wouldn't be so good. It was definitely NOT predictable, you know, I expected Jessie and Luke to 'live happily ever after'- TOGETHER :) This book was superp. I fully intend to search out more of these books. Anyone who really liked this, I am SURE would like the book PRETENSE by Lori Wick. (Christian fiction)
Rating: Summary: Finders Keepers bursts onto the scene in August Review: New York Times best-selling author, Fern Michaels, writes another winner with "Finders Keepers." She grabs the reader and convinces her to love the characters. Before finishing chapter one, the reader will laugh and cry. Jessie Roland can't love her parents, but she isn't sure why. Aren't children supposed to love their parents? And why does she have strange dreams of red sweaters and arms squeezing her too close? Her room is full of drawings of Golden Retrievers, yet she's never owned a dog. As Jessie grows up, the only person she feels close to is her friend Sophie. They vow to always be there for one another. When Jessie gets old enough, with Sophie's help, she leaves her parents, intending to never look back. She gets a job with a high-powered politician in DC and is drawn into a world of betrayal and secrets... As a special bonus to her readers, Fern has included a heartwarming short story. This book is a definite for your to-be-read list.
Rating: Summary: Another Winner for Fern Michaels! Review: The story was about a little girl, Jessie, who was kidnapped while asleep in her stroller. Her golden retriever dog, Jelly, was watching her as she slept. She has no recollection of the kidnapping. As she gets older, she begins to recall the name "Jelly" (the dog's name). As she grows up her parents don't allow her any friends. She does have one friend, Sophie, who feels unloved just like Jessie does. The story takes you through Jessie breaking away from her controlling parents; marrying a man, Tanner, for all the wrong reasons; and her and Sophie's strange and bizarre friendship. In the end all of the pieces of Jessie's life fall into place and she finally finds her real family. Her natural parents never gave up that she would come home. I thought the story line was captivating and it held my interest right through to the end. The ending, however, left me scratching my head. I wonder, is there a sequel forthcoming to tell us what happened after Tanner read the letter? Did Luke get tired of his ranch and search out Jessie and her child? What happened with Jessie's new found family? I guess the only one who knows the answers to those questions is Fern herself. Another 5 Star Winner for Fern. She's great and so was this book!
