Summary: Could this really be true?
Review: After only seeing just a few short segments of "Matthew" my life and ministry was changed forever. And again, as i read "Footsteps", my hearts cry was...could this really be true? I WANT to know Jesus like this. I NEED to know him like this. I HAVE to know him like this! Marchiano's book imparts such a hunger and thirst for seeking to discover this Jesus! (Thank you Bruce for letting Jesus shine thru you.) And to the entire "Matthew" team ... THE SAINTS ARE BEING REFRESHED!

Summary: A heart moving, spirit-filled testimony!
Review: After reading Bruce's book, I realized more of who Jesus was & is, beyond scripture... I fell more in love with Him! I encourage anyone who does not feel they know who Jesus is: the man, to read "Footsteps of Jesus". Who better to give insight into our Lord, but an ordinary guy who was hand-picked by God to portray Him! I praise the Lord, for Bruce's ministry and how much he loves Jesus...now living his life for Him, and leading others to Him. I also feel like we have a new friend in Bruce, given his approachable, open & humble personality that comes thru by the sharing of his life, before & since the filming of "Matthew". It has become an important part of our Lenten season yearly, to watch the videos and remember our Jesus...praise God, what a man! Thankyou Bruce, as you have blessed us, as an actor, but most as a genuine Christian! (Matt.19:26)

Summary: Wonderful
Review: Bruce Marchiano tells the reader what God has been doing in his life as he prepared him to play the role of Jesus in the video production of the Gospel According to Matthew. This book is a must to read for any who have viewed the tape series. If you haven't seen the tapes you are missing out on a wonderful Christian experience.

Summary: Best portrayal on film
Review: C.S. Lewis wrote that Jesus was either a liar, a lunatic, or the Lord He claimed to be. Unfortunately, on stage and film many actors slip into the "lunatic" portrayal--especially during difficult "angry" scenes like the cleansing of the temple and confrontations with the Pharisees. And those who avoid that pitfall often portray Jesus as a mystic with His head in the clouds, completely out of touch with reality. But through great prayer and study Bruce Marchiano captured a portrayal that not only overcomes these two problems but does so much more. Often his portrayal is surprising and even amazing, but for students of the New Testament, it rings true. This is a Jesus who is passionate and full of joy. I began playing Jesus on stage a few years ago in local church productions. I have read this book over and over and never cease to be inspired by the remarkable insights it provides. For sholarship, try Philip Yancey's "The Jesus I Never Knew." But for the remarkable revelations only an actor discovers, read this amazing book.

Summary: Bruce describes the love and joy of Jesus as we feel it.
Review: I can't wait for my 'Heavenly Day' to know of all the souls that are saved and lives that are touched by this man's yielding to the Savior. This is a journey--more than a book! And an oh-so-close to the throne experience for the reader. Jesus' revelations to Bruce shatter the traditionally dry image of our Lord--yippee!! READ "Footsteps" and catch the fever. It is written through a true servant's heart. Bruce -- I salute you. Jesus -- I PRAISE YOU!! (I just have one question: What kind of dog is Chub???)

Summary: Its about a love relationship
Review: Never before had I been compelled to read a book in a day...But for some reason, back in July of 2001, I sat down with "In The Footsteps Of Jesus" by Bruce Marchiano and did just so...

If you are searching for a God and a Savior without religion, you will find it here. The Christian religion tends to focus on religion and forget about the One it is all about! Bruce Marchiano lovingly and brilliantly brings the pages of this book to life with an awesome, loving, compassionate Jesus...The Christ that the Bible talks about...The true Christ!

Bruce shares his personal experiences, stories and, yes, even some miracles of his own before, during and after the filming of the "Matthew" film series. And he speaks to the reader as if he is having a cup of coffee with you and visiting with a friend...

You must read this book for your betterment, and then, you must share it with others...

And don't be surprised if you, too, read it in a day!

Review: The author really knows how it feels to be in the footstep of Jesus Christ..! It so touching, as if God gaves him a glimpse of His feelings towards His Creations, us.., human..!

Summary: In the Footsteps of the actor
Review: The best portrayal of Jesus in any film was Robert Powell in the 1977 mimi series, "Jesus of Nazareth".. I thought Marchiano was waaaay over the top and that his performance fell more in the category of amateur. That being said, I thought the book was somewhat insightful but as I read on it kept reminding me that it was more about walking in the footsteps of Mr. Marchiano rather than Jesus. Not recommended

Summary: Getting back to reality with our Savior.
Review: This has surely been a journey and it seems I need to go even further. Let me explain. I was stopped in my tracks as I couldn't take my eyes off the cover photo of the Plain Truth magazine. There was something too odd with it. IT came too close to my vision of how Jesus must have really looked. (I never bought into the porceline doll, divine, almost fragile look) Purchased...read the first few paragraphs and I gasped for breath at the passion this ordinary guy wrote with. Even in that article I fell in love. Decided on the spot that this was a must read. (I had a Spirit filled experience while producing and writing a compassion driven short movie as well. I also did most of the behind the scenes photography so I wanted his "JESUS, yesterday, today, forever picture book.)

Let me tell you when I got the books in my hands, I was right. I couldn't put them down. This was too real to be true. How can I say this...I want to hear ALL of the stories over hot chocolate one day, Bruce. He has become like a true Christian friend. Deeply grounded in Our Savior and his love for even the least of us, and screaming it across the world! From the looks of all the reviews all over the internet...we are all in one accord in the spirit of this most effective ministry. The Word of God does not return void when interpreted and inspired realistically. God Bless all the endeavours of this magnificent team and keep them away from the evils and corruptions of their inevitable fame. TO GOD BE THE GLORY AS BRUCE IS DOING SUCH A MARVELOUS JOB WITH. Now I've just got to get my hands on the audio tape and visual bible - Matthew, Acts and the Great Storyteller. Lastly, please listen to Bruce when he reminds us all to check it back to the Bible YOURSELF! Don't just take his word for it, the Bible was trying to tell Hollywood for a long time...Jesus was and still is very real! HE LAUGHED AND LOVED AND WEPT AND PLAYED WITH CHILDREN!
