Rating: Summary: Yuck! Review: An amusing read that kept me turning the pages. A little on the male bashing side, but I got some good laughs from beginning to end.
Rating: Summary: He Say She say Review: I have not read the whole book entirely, but this a great book for african-americans, because we can relate to what they are going through, and it also has many details.
Rating: Summary: Feelings and Emotions Review: I read Bebe's By Golly Wow a few years ago, and didn't know anything about He Say, She Say. So when I read the back cover of He Say, She Say, I thought to myself, "Joe must really like the name Bebe, she has two books with a character by that name." Then I started reading the book, and I realized it was the same Bebe from Bebe's By Golly Wow. I thought He Say, She Say was a pretty good book. I like how Joe told the story from four different character's perspectives, yet kept it flowing smoothly. I also liked the characters. Joe's writing style is rather simplistic, but it makes for a fast read. I didn't like Chapters 60-62, because what should have been a very serious, passionate discussion between Sandy and T.J. turned into a mini-sermon about the differences between men and women. It made their situation too trivial. The scene where Sandy gets revenge on T.J. was quite funny. I didn't think ole girl had it in her! (Well, she did get some help from Bebe). I felt let down by how things were left rather open-ended regarding T.J. and Sandy. But knowing that there is a sequel, I'll have to go back and re-read Bebe's By Golly Wow to see what happened to them. All in all, He Say, She Say is a fun, quick summer read.

Rating: Summary: BETCHA can't put this one down Review: I read this book in one day. It was quick reading for me. I liked the characters, they were easy to relate with. I also liked how she split up the characters voices by chapters which takes real talent to write that way. I really liked the characters and laughed with them, cried with them, rejoiced with them. I could see both sides of the situations too - from the sistahs to the brotahs. So, if you want a light read, and something good. Pick this one up, and i guarantee you won't want to put it down when you're finished.
Rating: Summary: He Say, She Say was an enjoyable reading experience. Review: The characters are full-bodied and real. This book is a real gem because it mirrors life and relationships. Most people, just as these characters, travel through life hoping and believing --- Sandy looking for love; T.J. looking for success and fearful of real feelings; Bebe looking for a promotion and a good hairdresser; and Speed desperately trying to hold on to his "player's card", which should have been revoked twenty years earlier. Even with these different goals and fears, the friendship and love between the characters shine through. Now, this is a true "African-American" experience. Most readers will recognize at least one or two of these characters as friends, foes or associates. You do know them - they are just that comfortable. I could not put the book down---such a delight. I told all my friends to read it and the feedback has been wonderful. Thank you, Ms. Yolanda Joe -- can't wait to read your next book.
Rating: Summary: Was'nt Bad Review: This book was'nt bad it was a page tuner. I liked the characters they were easy to releate to. They were like real people with a hell load of problems. It was a O.K. read.
Rating: Summary: Quick and Cute Review: This was my first time reading a book by Yolanda Joe. I thought it was pretty much an overall good book. Nothing about it really stood out, but I must say that it was quick, it was cute, and I smiled at the end. What else really matters?
Rating: Summary: ???? Review: This was not a thick book but for some reason it took me several weeks to complete. One of the reasons I did complete this book is because I try to finish what I begin... I felt the author was trying to write like the voice of a man.. Many times during the story I found myself wondering do men really talk like that? Perhaps they do? There was not much of a plot and over all it was not a terrible book, just not all that exciting... I love to read but this was not one of the best books that I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: slow read but interesting Review: yes i have to say it took me awhile to read this book...but when i had finally got into it... i read it in a week. at first i didnt like how the characters were split but it had gotten interesting because you always waiting to see what the next character is going to say...not only was it funny but it was basically down to earth reading and you can put yourself and others in the characters shoes *S*
