Review: This book, and all others by the same author, is a must for little girls between the ages of 6 and 11. I enjoyed them when I was a youngster , as did my own mother ! I have three little nieces who are being taught French and we introduced them to this book and others by La Comtesse de Segur..they fell in love too! Written hundreds of years ago, they have lost none of their charm or appeal. Simple stories where good deeds are always rewarded, where children across the ages still acted the same as our children do nowadays (less so though!).

A must, a classic of children litterature with none of the stuffiness that might entail!
