Summary: A cold book about a closed-in couple
Review: Dawn in Eclipse Bay, the second in a trilogy about the chilly feud between the Hartes (calculating businesspeople) and Madisons (untrustworthy artists and bad-boys), deals with the romance between the anomalies in the various tribes: Lillian Harte, a frustrated artist, and Gabe Madison, a high-powered businessman. Both Lillian and Gabe have money, success, and no lack of interest in the opposite sex, but drift together like two lost souls all the same.It is easy to see why; a more cold, repressed, introverted pair have yet to have a novel written around them. This couple is so uncommunicative that their marriage proposal is done almost by mental telepathy. There are some funny lines, and these people certainly are written true and believable--but why should we care? They were both as chilly and distant as the frequent drenching storms off the Oregon coast, and just as welcoming and easy to know. I read the book, and Krentz had her usual writing chops up to speed so it was easy and pleasant to read, but it still left me with an empty feeling--I'd read about these people, but I really didn't want to know them. The ending especially crumbled, as the weak central characters were unable to support it. Gabe and Lillian might be fine people, but together they were a black hole, sucking all the energy out of the story, no matter how many pairs of red bikini underwear, iridescent rain slickers, and striped silk ties were thrown into it.

Review: Eclipse Bay and Dawn in Eclipse Bay are the first books I've read of Jayne Ann Krentz. I think she is absolutely wonderful in how she is slowly bringing the Harte-Madison family feud to an end. I can't wait to see what happens next. Keep up the good work!

Summary: Not Her Best
Review: I am a huge JAK fan, but this one disappointed me. I never felt that the characters developed enough. I'm hoping the new volume in the trilogy will be better. I miss the characters in her earlier books.

Summary: Story 3; audio reader 1
Review: I am having bad luck with audio books; in particular romance mysteries. The women just cant do a man's voice convincingly enough for me. This time she made Lillian sound like such a priss. Finally, got the book from the library, forgot the audio and had a great time with it. The first chapter is a howl. Gabe & Lillian are a tough couple to rate, so I just went along with the book. The premise was weak but, it's summer and I have decided to just read and enjoy. Not much time is invested and it is a nice addition to the trilogy. I would recommend the 'Naked in Death" unabridged audio; now there's a woman who can do all voices and make it work!

Summary: Good Story--but not Great!
Review: I fell in love with Eclipse Bay last summer. It was so nice to see Jayne Ann Krentz revert back to her old style of great one-liners and that bad boy hero she does so well. Like many I eagerly awaited the follow-up book in this series. Did I enjoy it? Yes! Is it as good as the first one? No! Dawn in Eclipse Bay follows the story of Lillian Harte and Gabe Madison. Many of you will remember, there has been a family feud for years. The people of Eclipse Bay live to see the fireworks explode when the two families collide. This time Gabe Madison has decided to find a wife. As the owner and CEO of one of the largest corporations around, he decides to seek out a wife just like he does business. To find the right person, he goes to his now sister-in-law, Lillian Harte and her matchmaking service. Gabe is to be Lillian's last client. She is ready to close down business and finally pursue her dream of being an artist. Gabe turns out to be the client from hell finding fault with everyone Lillian sets him up with. Both return to Eclipse Bay for different reasons and begin an uneasy relationship. Then the families decide to get involve and the fireworks begin. Gabe is a great leading man. You see him begin to reveal sides that have been closed up for years. Lillian wasn't my idea of a great leading lady, though. I almost formed the opinion she was letting herself go through the motions instead of taking charge of her life. It was nice to see some recurring characters, but their storyline was almost like a second thought. Dawn in Eclipse Bay isn't as good as Eclipse Bay, but it certainly filled my needs as a fan of Jayne Ann Krentz. I'll be around looking out for book 3 when it comes out.

Summary: GREAT BOOK!
Review: I have never laughed so hard in my life. At one point I actually had tears rolling... some of the stuff with AZ killed me but the wholehearted tears came from the camera shot... I will not ruin it for those who have not read but the whole red undies thing was hysterical. The sex was a bit weak... a lot of assumptions, which is fine but I think more then one sceen would have made the "clicking" of the characters a bit stronger. All in all though a good book I throughly enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading Summer at Eclipse Bay next! I would recommend this book agian

Summary: The second in the series ...
Review: I think I liked this one as much as I did the first stoyr. This is the story of Gabe and Lillian. As usual a Harte and a Madison don't usually mix well. But, in this case Lillian has been hired by Gabe due to her dating service. But, after more than the guaranteed dates and reupping Gabe still has not found his match. He has one data left and he is going to insist Lillian fufill her contract, much to her dismay as she has decided to close her business. They both wind up back in Eclipse Bay and the showdown starts. There are alot of the characters you have come to enjoy in this one such as Virgil and AZ...

Summary: Not up to Eclipse Bay standards, but entertaining enough.
Review: The grandchildren of the Harte-Madison feud are at it again. Lillian and Gabe met at the wedding between his brother and her sister. Both are the oddballs of the Harts and Madisons. He is the Madison that is a superpower in business when all other Madisons seem doomed to fail, and she is the 'failure' of the Hartes when all other Harte are groomed for success. She is the the successful matchmaker, but wants to close the business and become a full time artist to the shock of family. The problem: Gabe. After the wedding, where sparks arched between them, she was not surprised to find him on her door step. Only she was disappointed the find he wanted her services to find him a wife. After five disastrous dates arranged, she just wants to end the contract, but he won't. Gabe is determined to hold her to it - personally. And he follows her back to Eclipse Bay to prove it!!! You will meet all the noisy characters of EB, including Arizona and her conspiracy theory about the institute on the hill. This time she is convinced they are sneaking in the bodies of the aliens from area 51! JAK gives you guaranteed great read!!

Summary: Gotta love a good family feud!
Review: The Hartes and the Madisons are at it again - this time, it's Lillian Harte and Gabe Madison who become swept into each other's passion. Thankfully, Ms. Krentz understands her readers well enough to directly continue on from "Eclipse Bay" - it is enormously satisfying to have such continuity between the stories. These families have a zest for life and a strength of will and commitment that leaps off the page, although I must confess that I found the romance between Hannah and Rafe a little more vibrant. However, this was a fun read and Jayne Ann Krentz knows how to weave a wonderful tale. Bring on volume 3 - I can't wait to find out about Nick and Octavia!
