Summary: Lives up to expectations
Review: Having been somewhat worried and concerned in the absence and delay in the expected release of this book last year, it was quite a pleasure to read through Rowling's latest work. Rowlings talent telling tales continues as unfolds the story of Harry and the Gang as they enjoin with the Order of the Phoenix in the adventures that await. Atlast, Harry finally comes to an understanding of his relationship and role with his nemesis, Lord Voldermort (or for the afraid, he-who-shall-not-be-named). I highly recommend this title to those who have read the previous books, and suggest starting from the beginning of the series if you haven't.

Thanks JKR for another adventure in fantasy filled world of Wizards, Witches and Muggles!

Summary: Had a hard time putting it down!
Review: The fifth installment of the Harry Potter series was most definitely NOT a disappointment!

Be forewarned that the book is much darker than the others in the series (we read the others aloud to our young daughter, and she enjoyed them immensely, but I will probably not do so with this one). This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who read the fourth book--it didn't end on a note that would lead you to believe happiness was forthcoming.

That said, it is clear that Rowling has NOT lost her touch! The suspense starts by the second page and barely lets up to allow you to catch your breath. In spite of the overall dark tone, there are still light moments, snatches of happiness for our beloved characters, and of course, flashes of humor!

I would say it was definitely worth the wait!

Summary: Beautifully written, complex, engaging, and simply terrific
Review: I was so afraid that a new marriage, motherhood, and more cash than the Queen of England would ruin J.K. Rowling. Would the new book be full of meandering and empty of action and meaning?

My faith in humanity is restored. J.K. Rowling has delivered a wonderful novel that surpasses, deepens, and complements her other Harry Potter adventures. This is a great book. She's not ruined by fame and fortune. Hm, sounds like Harry...

Summary: Dark, angry, but great!
Review: We were left hanging for 3 years with Lord Voldemort back and Dumbledore at wits with the Ministry of Magic. The wait was worth it! By far the most tantalizing and best written book of the series thus far.

Don't expect instant gratification, however. You are left in the dark for sometime. You may get frustrated, as well. As has been mentioned in the reviews, Harry is becoming a teenager. He is often angry and, well, tests the boundaries of his "lovability".

A nice mix of action, drama, humor, and even some romance! I know JK Rowling had a difficult time getting this done, but I hope the next one doesn't take so long. Keep it up!

Summary: amazing, of course
Review: As an avid reader of the last 4 books, I scurried to pre-order this book in january as soon as it went on sale. When it arrived on June 21, I spent the entire day engrossed in the pages, and was not disappointed in the amazing story that unfolded before me. Harry goes through all the emotions that any 15 year old does - self pity, angst, anger, puppy love, & guilt over feelings he has. As I read, I was swept away into memories of similar emotions growing up. Rowling hits it right on the head. Some might complain at the length, but I cherished every adjective & description that make Hogwarts so real. Reading this swept me away into a world that I can't wait to re-visit when I re-read each book over and over. Bring on book 6!

Summary: harry potter whines in 870 pages
Review: Wow, I waited two years for this book? Poorly written, badly edited, long, boring and disjointed. Rowling has never been a friend or known a teenage boy in her life. She needs to do some research. It sounded as she did not want to write this book but was forced into doing it. It needs tightning up a great deal. The characters are flat, they run in and out of the story without any continuity. You wonder who wrote the first four this one is so bad. From Hagrid ghosting n and out with a large contrived brother that is there only for a loose end later. I could go on, but will not waste any more time on this book.

Summary: Why are you reading this...go read HP 5!!
Review: I read this book in a day n a half and it left me wanting more. It was pretty long but not once was I bored with it. Simply it wsa a great book, and it took some expectected..and some unexpected turns along the way. My best advice is to read it but don't before you've read the others, its my faveroite series n I hope you enjoy it too!!

Summary: The Best of all the Harry books
Review: I could not believe how good this books really was. I read it in under 24 hours because I couldn't put it down! JK Rowling does an excellent job showcasing Harry's new found emotions and how he deals with things. Although, I am disappointed in who she decided to kill off :*( Other than that, I would suggest everyone read it!

Summary: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Review: Without going into a huge amount of detail, and spoiling it for others that haven't made it all the way through the book yet, suffice to say Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was worth waiting three years for.

J.K. Rowling has not lost her touch by any stretch of the imagination. Once Harry, Hermione and Ron arrive at Hogwarts for their fifth year, virtually every page is filled with excitement and suspense. True, it has a very sad death which we were all warned about, but this was almost inevitable in setting the stage for the war that is to come.

J.K. Rowling states that each book can stand on it's own, but if you read the Order of the Phoenix without at least reading books three and four first, you would be missing out on many references that only add to the richness of the story. The return of several beloved characters, and the addition of some new ones who are incredibly annoying but fascinating, kept me spellbound throughtout the book. Some you you will be amused to read of the personality changes in Harry, who at 15, is now experiencing much more difficulty in maintaining his patience. And with good reason!

I would recommend this book to all those who may at first thought this is a children's book. I would be hard pressed to think of many other books out there that have such superb detail, development of characters or be more fun to read than this one. J.K. Rowling has given a gift to the world with her writing, especially with this latest addition to her series.

Summary: Best book i've read in a very long time!!!
Review: All I can say after reading 'Harry Potter and the Order of The Pheonix" is...wow!! Although the novel was rather long and, in some places, slow,Overall I must say that it is one of the best books I have read this year so far....I absolutely COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN (I read all 870 pages of it in 2 days!). I don't want to spoil the book for everyone, but I will say that there is enough action and adventure in it to satisfy even the pickiest of readers. I found that some of the old characters, and most of the new ones, were well thought out and very entertaining. This novel brings in a lot of new adventures and characters...but I, for the most part, find that the author does a lot of explaining and ellaborating on old characters, events, and incidents.

Anyways, for the person who is a fan of Harry Potter, this should be THE item on your list of things to buy for the summer. As I said before.... This is one heck of a book!
