Summary: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4)
Review: Harry is an excellent book for young adult readers and young-at-heart, adult readers. The adventure is something every kid dreams about. It brings back the memory of the adventures the young-at-heart used to dream about and make us believe again. It has everything a book is supposed to have in a language that is easy and enjoyable for all. Aside from trying to learn what muggles are and the occasional monster that Hagrid loves so much. There is a plot, a beginning, middle and end. Each book is separate story and they all link to one another. It helps young readers to build their imagination and to expand our dwindling ones (young-at-hearts.) I personally read books for pleasure, and research. And I have added the Harry Potter's to my list. I look forward to the time when I have children or my nephews are old enough for me to read to them. Young readers enjoy it because they can relate and are at an age that they can still dream about expand their dreams to include themselves as Harry's friends or counter-parts in his achievements. For the young-at-heart, he brings us back to our childhood and our imagination. And allows us relief from the routine and mundane of our world. He brings laughter and mischief to everyone he touches. (Except Snape and the Slytherins, and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.) That is why I enjoyed reading Harry, look forward to his next books and adventures and give him 5 stars.

Summary: Darkest and deadliest book in the series.
Review: I am 30 years old and I must say this book is one of the best books I have read in my life. Simply amazing this book is. Very dark and deadly, it brings back Harry Potter series to square one. You will know what I meant after you read it. J.K. Rowling has out done herself in this book with unforgetable characters and sinister plot. More and more, her writing is maturing and so are the characters. I would say this series is no longer a children's but a full blown Myster/Suspense/Horror book that one would expect from Dean Koontz or Stephen King. Think twice before you read this book to kids under 12 years old. Nevertheless, very entertaining and utterly fulfilling.

Summary: Some things get better with age-
Review: Its nice when a series like Harry Potter comes along- the first book was excellent and engrossing, and the second and third both improved on the original to some degree. I have to say though that I was unprepared for the quantum leap J.K. Rowling has made in writing the fourth book in the series. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is in a class by itself. From the beginning, with Harry and friends attending the Quidditch World Cup tournament, to the final terrifying and exhilerating chapters, "Goblet" delivers! My only complaint is that now that I've finished reading "Goblet" I shall have to wait a long while before reading the next installment!

Summary: Wow
Review: When I first saw how bulky the book was, I had serious doubts as to whether it would be able to live up to the expectations I had built up for it since reading the last Harry Potter book. I was NOT disappointed. I bought the book Saturday evening, picked it up and started reading, and couldn't put it down until I finished it 24 hours later. Yes, it was THAT good! I would HIGHLY recommend reading this -- even though I thought the first half of the book dragged on for a bit, the last half more than made up for it in excitement and unexpected surprises. This is truly the pivotal book of the series, and definitely not to be missed if you've already read the first three in this series.

Summary: So good. Buy it now
Review: Well, at 750 pages, this new Harry Potter book still reads like one half that length. Not a single chapter feels too long or drawn out. You'll find yourself sitting up reading it all night.

I finished in three days. Buy this book. Read the others too.

Summary: Excellent Book!
Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire more than lived up to all the hype surrounding its release. It took me back to the world that I grew to love in the first three books. It was long but never, never boring. It was darker than the first 3, but it had to be to get where the next book will start. I had my nose buried in the book all day and well into the early morning. I was compelled to finish it. The plotline was very exciting but I am not going to reveal anything about it for the sake of preserving the effect for other readers. It was a very very good read and I cannot wait until the next one comes out.

Summary: Fans won't be disappointed
Review: I can say it was well worth the wait for the latest chapter in the Harry Potter series, though I was so eager to find out what happened that I read the book in three days! The story and action are that compelling.

Not to give too much of the story away to those who haven't read it yet, I will say that Rowling's writing is very vivid and draws the reader into the lives of the Hogwarts fourth-year students. Her description of the Quidditch World Cup, for example, is quite stunning...as if Rowling had attended one herself. The mystery of Voldemort's connections at Hogwarts once again threw me off track -- I had picked one character to be the baddie and it turned out to be someone else. I imagine other Harry fans will be equally surprised to see how this story unfolds.

True to her word, this installment does have a darker tone, as tensions between Harry and friends come into play, particularly between Ron and Hermione. One wonders if Rowling plans on pairing the two in the future.

The one thing that doesn't make me happy is that I read the book so quickly and I don't know when Book 5 is due. Hurry up, JK!

Summary: Best Harry Potter book yet
Review: Ok, I am a huge Harry Potter fan. When I got the first three books I read them all twice in that month! I had this book pre-ordered from Amazon since Feb 2. When I got this book on July 8 (the day it came out) I did not put it down for three days! You just can't. This is the best Harry Potter yet. If you are even a small Harry Potter fan BUY THIS BOOK! You will not be disappointed.

Summary: Goblet of Fire does not disappoint
Review: Fans of JK Rowling's previous Harry Potter books should enjoy this fourth installment in the series. All of the old characters return, and we continue to learn more about them and watch them grow. In a similar way, we learn more about the magical world itself. Ms. Rowling introduces histories and spells which fit seamlessly with past books, meanwhile setting the stage for this and future adventures. The book is fun, inventive and surprising, with adventures and plot twists capable of entertaining adults as well as children.

Despite the fact that this is by far the longest Harry Potter book, it is the least stand-alone of the four. Rudimentary explanations are made for some -- possibly most -- references to past books, but a new reader to the series would nonetheless have a hard time understanding what was going on. This problem is largely a side-effect of Ms. Rowling's rich use of personality, human interaction, and world-creation. Since her characters and plots grow from book to book, joining the series in the middle becomes like entering a conversation between siblings. There is too much history between them to be able to explain everything without crippling their own conversation. The easy solution to this problem: read this book only after you've read the previous three.

More of a disappointment, though, is that the ending may as well have "TO BE CONTINUED" in blazing letters. Faithful readers will recall that there are generally several interrelated plot lines running through each Harry Potter story. In this book, the struggle to gain the goblet of fire is practically the only plot line that reaches a conclusion. It is not even the main plot. Several relationship subplots also are introduced in this book, but not addressed. A reader will either miss them completely, or have to acknowledge that the ongoing references are mere foreshadowing for a future book.

So, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" doesn't stand alone. So what? I've read the first three, and I plan to read as many future Harry Potter books as Ms. Rowling will write. This is a great series, and I highly recommend all four of the books now in print.

Summary: Harry Potter Amazes Once Again
Review: J.K. Rowling has done it again. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is detailed, imaginative, and funny. Although the book is very long, it is not in any way boring or repetitive. Harry faces many problems in his fourth year at Hogwarts, a wizarding school, from a crush on an older girl to fighting an evil magician.

As you read the book, you feel as if you are actually a part of the story, along with Harry and his friends. The ending is very surprising, and like all the previous Harry Potter books, wonderfully portrayed.

Overall, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is highly recommended to children and adults alike.
