Summary: thin on substance
Review: This book was the number one top-selling book in New Zealand for a few years running. Some of my friends read it & they were convinced that they were in the rat-race & thus, they made some changes which might change their lives for the better (or worse). That is the main reason why I got myself the book to read & see what kind of impacts it would make on me. Much of what the book said was common sense anyway or that we were told of the same things by our parents & the parents before them. That proved to me that not many of us took heed of our parents' advice or that we were severely lacking of common sense. Just to give you a few examples, in order to create our wealth, we should maximising the income bracket & minimising the cost bracket. Please?! Then, it's about us not falling victims to credit cards, & other so-called interest free items. Anyway, whoever that is strong with their financial managing would find this book lacking of substance that would make a real difference. The author used his life example to portray to us how easy it is for him & his rich dad to utilise money to make money. Sometimes, how I wish that the author would go straight to the point rather than beating around the bush. Anyway, after finishing this book, I continued reading the sequel: rich kid, poor kid, & trust me, you wouldn't miss much. All I can say is that I really got to give the author the credit for having the ingenuity & the courage for bringing out the obvious & thus, rewarded financially from this. The best thing in life is that if you are not happy & not content, do something about it. Doing something is better than not doing anything, or blaming other people's from your own misfortunes or whinging about what if's. Seize the moment, if you still haven't got my hint. Try on other more constructive & informative investment books. I'm sure that there are better ones out there!

Summary: Awesome Book!
Review: This book absolutely changed my paradigm of money and life in general. I am a full time student in college. Before I picked up this book, I was struggling to figure out what I want to do in life. After reading "Rich Dad Poor Dad", I found what I was missing all along. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to get ahead in life. This book teaches the basic fundamentals that every person needs to know to succeed.

Summary: A total waste of time reading this book
Review: I am a legal newcomer to the land of opportunities (arrived with my bag of money). I read most of these bestsellers. I pity people spending time reading a totally non-practical and non-functional book like this and recommending it to others!! I could not believe myself when I got done with it. I never throw a book in the trash; well, I did with this one (I did not want to waste my kids' time in the future). I thought it would be of the caliber of "The Millionaire Next Door" but certainly not even close. In conclusion, I think it is the worst book I have ever read. I am upset for wasting my time with it. So far I have bought more than a dozen of "The Millionaire Next Door" and distributed them on every one I care for. I think I will do the same with this one but I will throw them all away to save human kind from wasting their times!! Time is of the essence.

Summary: Need to know
Review: I think that Kiyosaki did something very generous by sharing the information that got him where he is, instead of keeping it a secret. I really enjoy the whole idea that you can either be a lemming or you can think and find treasures wright under your nose. I think this is a great book and inspires me to acheive anything i want because I can, i just have to think, something that many people do not do. There are more ways of doing things than society lays out for you.

Summary: On the right track
Review: I thought the way Kiyosaki laid out his plan for financial sucsess was interesting, telling of his own personal experiences and his "rich and poor dad." Kiyosaki's notion that not everyone is doomed to be a participant in the "rat race" was motivating and showed that you don't have to have a thousand degrees to become financialy successful. I thought that his emphasis on the importance of financial eduation was a good one, showing that although there are many highly educated people, their financial skills are poor. I think one of the things that was most stressed was the difference between a liablity that many think to be an asset. Also, Kiyosaki stressed that it takes a long period of time to make money. For example, stocks are a long term investment that will make money over time. I also liked the idea of getting money to work for you instead of you being a slave to money. However, I did find the book to be repetitive and stating nothing more than common sense. I also found that Kiyosaki was sometimes critical of the middle calsses painting them to be robots unable to think for themselves. However, Kiyosaki's want for the middle class to better themselves is a start on the right track.

Summary: Rich Dad Poor Dad
Review: I think that this book was all around informative. Most of the examples that the author used to support his concepts about money were common sense. However, certain people may not have been fully aware till they actually read this book. I agree with the point he efficiently made across: "you shouldn't work for money" but you should have "money work for you."

Summary: In the long run!
Review: This book was good for people that need people to give them a little booston how to manage their money. If you want to hear a real life story on how a person could become a millionaire, read this. It helps you manage your money, so that in the future you can be in good shape. People that would like to save a little should read it. I would recommend it to my mom.

Summary: get money all over again
Review: the aurther takes a stroll down in reaveling the secret of money making it is piece of book. i was just a freshman studying Economics/Political Science in UNN when i got hold of the book. but by the time i could finish the introductory pages of the book, i became scared of dropping out of undergraduate school, thank God i am already out of High school because of my state of mind; since the question was not just education alone but rather, which one first, money or school. considering the fact that money wasnt thought in school only skills and professions are thought in colleges.

sincerely, it was a controversial issue for me to decide what i really wanted in life, but as i begin to unenvelope the said book, my insights and by the time i finished the first chapter of the book, i say almost all the reasons i needed to make a choice of want in life. it became real to me why i should embrace both choices simultaneously.

the book has eventually changed and transformed me for the better, it has opened my awareness into wealth and foresight to richness. it has expanded all my motives in life, my hopes and aspiration in wealth making rather than paying more taxes after school. you too can read it and grow bigger and better, infact Richard was lucky to have a rich and a poor father oh! how i wished i was like him having such fathers and the need to critique there advises instead of merely going to school for education sake, you can as well get rich by just reading a book. what a chance! well if you havent seen the book, then you havent seen anyhing yet and i mean it. This is Reality Beyond The Limits of Perspection; an Extraordinary Intellectual Energy for those who desire to get rich even without going to high school. think of Bill Gate (a drop out) Richard said it all.

Summary: A Poor Kid's Opinion
Review: Are you a risk taker or an observer? Do you want to endlessly work for money, or are you tired of it and want to learn the basics of how to make money work for you? I enjoyed reading the book as a result of it's simplicity in content, but thought that the explainations were repetitive and diagrams ineffective. It is a quick read with everyday language that requires little to no thinking on the part of a reader. This emphasizes the boook's main principle that wealth is no longer to be taught as only some far off illusion. Money management and financial planning skills aren't part of the current school curriculum, but with this book as a guildline young people can be introduced to the basics of the way out of the make money, spend money rat race.
What's contained within the pages of this book? Intelligent money management begins with taking risks and learning to differentiate between assets and liabilities. Basially, assets make money and liabilities are those which require the use of one's money in order to function. The more assets, the more money in the long run. NO fear and outdated thoughts that only the rich get richer. The truth is, the rich get richer as result of the poor staying uninformed and lazy. Invest and dot waste money. Practice self discipline and get educated. keep options on how to make money visible, possible and open. Don't give up, it won't happen over night and above all use the knowlege you can find from anywhere or anyone about money managment to take action and make your life more enjoyble in the process.
