Summary: Albom's Five
Review: Mitch Albom presents a second novel to "Tuesday's With Morrie." Yet, while his first novel focuses on the END of one's life, the second novel, "The Five People You Meet In Heaven," he suggests a new outlook on the afterlife. While Morrie's story is more about proving his life was valuable - to others, Eddie's story is about what the meaning of life is intrinsically and learning the mistakes, the causes, and the consequences of the decisions made in his life. For, the book begins with Eddie - a war veteran at 83 years old, head of maintenance at Ruby Point Amusement Park, and his attempt to save a girl from a falling cart. And how it took Eddie's life. Eddie wonders about the girl, and when he goes to heaven he is thinking that finding out whether or not he saved her is his answer to his meaning of life on earth. Was his "ending" successful, he wonders?
Yet Eddie's supposed "ending," he learns, is also a beginning. It is a beginning for him to explore with five people who have impacted his life or been impacted by it, directly or indirectly. While it the beginning for Eddie, through meeting each of the five people, he is also able to bring his heavenly visitors closure on their own lives' on earth.
There is no hero in the story, but yet a regular man, living in the regular world...and yet Albom himself is a hero for providing such an interesting outlook on this possibility of the afterlife.
I ask myself after reading this, "When I go to heaven, who are the five people who will explain my life to me?" -- and this is certainly thought provoking in that it can make one think about, knowing that there are going to be five people that in all of life's decisions, there will be several that can change one's own life - and those of others' - forever. People have called this earth shattering, yet I would say it shows how tightly knit the people on this earth are and how things can never truly be shattered.

Review: An 83-year-old man, Eddie thinks his life is inspired and not special to anyone, even himself. All he can do is fixing amusement rides and cleaning, which are his job for his entire life. On his 83rd birthday, he dies to save a little girl from a falling ride. It is the only thing he can be proud of himself, but he is not able to know whether he really saves her or not. After his death, he goes to heaven, but where he arrives was Ruby Pier Amusement Park of his childhood memory. At first, he meets the Blue Man who tells him that he dies because of a car accident was caused by young Eddie's ball playing with his brother. From the Blue Man's story, Eddie learns that there is no random act that means nothing, and no life is waste. Second, Eddie meets his captain who has served with him in the army during the war in the Philippines. The captain tells him another surprising story that he purposely shot Eddie's leg to save his life. From the captain's story, Eddie learns that sacrifice is a part of life and it's something to aspire, not to regret. Third, Eddie meets Mrs. Ruby who is the wife of Ruby Pier Amusement Park's owner. She tells him about Eddie's father whom Eddie bears grudge against, and his true side Eddie never knows. From Mrs. Ruby's story, Eddie learns that holding anger is a poison that harms both ones, so he should forgive his father. Forth, Eddie meets young Marguerite, his dead wife. She tells him about true love, and love doesn't have to end, even though life has to. From Marguerite's story, Eddie learns that lost love is still love, but takes a different form. Fifth, Eddie meets a Philippine girl, Tala. Eddie doesn't even know who she is, but she tells Eddie that he burns her when he burns Philippine nipas during the war. After Eddie's journey to meet all five people who have to tell Eddie the stories to encourage his past life. Finally, Eddie realizes that Ruby Pier Amusement Park where he always wants to leave was the true heaven. Eddie's journey tells readers that lives we are living are always important and special to everyone, especially to ourselves. Also, this story makes readers realize that there is no meaningless life.

I sometimes thought that my life is just a part of the world that nobody would know or get interested. However, after I read this book, I could think again about the importance of my life differently. My life can be important to many people, not only my family or myself. Even though I don't even know whom I am affected by or who I affect, I know that all the people in the world is connected, so we gets and gives effects to each other. Therefore, I think that we should realize the importance of our lives and live the best lives we can with a lot of confidence.
This book has a lot of merits for readers. After reading this book, we can think again about the importance of our lives, because this book encourages people that there is no meaningless life, so all our lives are important to everyone in the world, especially ourselves. Therefore, I want to recommend this book to everyone I know, especially who is stressed about future life and gets tired about inspired living pattern. This book will give them great effects to their thoughts about their lives.

Summary: inspiring
Review: This is one of the most beautiful books about man's pilgrimage through life. The plot is amazing. I hold that nobody can say for certain what his/her purpose in life is or whether ones' purpose had been achieved when the person dies. Still it is good for us to remember the troubles of our life, recollect the memories of things, judge the impact they had on those around us or on humanity as a whole, and determine whether we achieved what we've been trying to find out in life. Life's meaning is unveiled for us to understand in this book. This is a positively inspiring book. It reminds me of THE VERDICT OF HADES in the collection of stories entitled "THE USURPER AND OTHER STORIES."

Review: The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom is a refreshing novel about life. Albom does an excellent job of making the reader question his or her views on the afterlife as well as the meaning of life itself Also, Albom discusses how the afterlife explains one's life and his or her purpose in it. In addition, the five people Albom chooses for Eddie to meet in heaven provide further insight as to why relationships are important, regardless of whether or not you know that person directly. Overall, The Five People You Meet in Heaven is a quick read, yet its unique message is different and thought-provoking and Albom has the reader hanging onto every last word, holding back the persistent tears of joy and triumph.

Summary: A moving, heart warming story
Review: I am not the type of a guy that would read this type of a book, but its amazing what you will read while stuck for hours on a plane. With each page I was more engrossed with this great story. Its a simple story, yet it cannot help but touch the heart. If you want a quick read (under 200 pages) that will make your day and make you look at the many demensions of your life, this is clearly the book of the year!

Summary: Who would you meet in heaven?
Review: the five people you meet in heaven is the story of Eddie, a bitter war veteran, who after struggling for a meaning in his life spent working at an amusement park, dies unexpectedly at the age of 83 while trying to save the life of a child at the amusement park.

When Eddie dies, he is taken to a place unlike what most people visualize as Heaven. He is greeted by five people one after another who have had the greatest impact on his life, whether he realized it while he was living or not, these people changed the path of his life forever.

Outstandingly written, the five people you meet in heaven is a thoughtful and inspiring journey that takes you beyond the realms of your own imagination. Any fan of Mitch Albom's writing will not be disappointed, as no other tale could capture the beauty of life as this does and be as appealing to audiences of all ages.
