Rating: Summary: Great Work Ann! Review: This book lifts the vail to the McCarthy saga. After reading this well written account of the era, I can only recommend this book to anyone who likes historical perspectives. To young to remember Sen. Joe McCarthy, I was taught about "McCarthyism" in school, even then, things did not add up for me. This book has certainly put the pieces in place that seemed to be missing from my government education.Ann lays out the evidence with plenty of backup to sustain her allogations about Liberal coverups of communist activities during the 40's and 50's. Was McCarthy the monster the Press and Liberals made him out to be? or was Sen. Joe McCarthy persecuted for speaking the truth? She could not have picked a better title for this book. Read for yourself - Highly Recommended by this reader!
Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put It Down Review: This book certainly shares a different view of American political strife than the one that has been portrayed in the mass media. My wife is reading the book right now, and I'll probably read it again when she's finished.
Rating: Summary: Exceptional Review: Well sourced, well argued, stunning indictment of the left. Leftist emote while the right reasons, and Ann's book uses facts and reasons to support her thesis that the left are, in fact, engaged in treason against America. Any book written by the right must be documented with source material, and Treason most certainly is. Due to the strength of her position, buttressed by facts and source materials, the left is reduced to whining and insults, not reasoned argument. Hardly a winning format for the left when engaged in debate. The left attacks Ann but never impeaches (!) her credibility, as the facts are there and fully supported. Ann is a conservative with a sense of humor and a pleasure to read. Insightful, energetic and completely unashamed to be American, Ann's book is a must read!
Rating: Summary: Historically Important Book Review: Most of what you think you know about FDR, Truman, McCarthy, and the so-called "Red Scare" is wrong; that's the message of just the first few chapters of "Treason". This is an important book for anyone who wishes to explore recent political history honestly, and without a blind acceptance of what is generally held to be common knowledge about the period. With her typical razor-sharp wit, Ann Coulter cuisinarts the left's "big lie" version of the history of the past few decades. This is a very well-documented book. The facts speak for themselves, and the style is pure Ann Coulter. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Be prepared to have your prejudices challenged. Review: Ann Coulter is a daring woman. It takes genuine courage to challenge Liberal myths that even Conservatives have bought into. Most people under 60 only think what they know of Joe McCarthy from history books. For them, the 1950s was a period of domestic terror comparable to the Soviet Gulag and the Moscow show trials. This bizarre reading of history and the malignant blacking of McCarthy's name is exposed by Coulter in a book that leaves Liberals terrorized and not a few neo-Conservatives whimpering. What's refreshing is the no-holds-barred way that she is willing to challenge sodden Liberal pieties with language and style that is rarely found in Conservatives. Foaming-at-the-mouth accusations of racism, bigotry, sexism, homophobia, are usually the province of mainstream Liberalism. They just can't take it when this classy lady gives it back to them in spades. An excellent, and entertaining read. You view of Liberals will never be the same.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: More liberals should read this book. It's an eye opener.
Rating: Summary: libbos oppose anything America supports Review: I always knew they were traitors. Now Ann's book can carry on the work.
Rating: Summary: Myths and Lies Review: Lets put our heads togather and rewrite history to fit our agenda. Fill it with stereotypes, bigotry, prejudice, and slander. Most of all emotional negation of the facts. Could the Vast Liberal Media actually pull this off? Ann produces a study that makes the case that Liberals, Socialist, and Communist have indeed rewriten the facts concerning traitors in our midst.
Rating: Summary: TREASON Review: This book makes sense out of recent world history, and is really fun to read. If you like, keep a dictionary handy as you read, since Ann Coulter has a broad vocabulary.
Rating: Summary: Typical conservative bashing Review: This book is just proof of how low conservative journalism has gone. To use the word intelectual and Ann Coulter is an insult to all real intelectuals. Conservative insanity at it's finest...
