Rating: Summary: Libs - What are you afraid of? Thou dost protest too much.. Review: I already wrote my review... Best book ever written. But in viewing the 1-star reviews, obvious liberals are writing things like "people should be prevented from reading", "Coulter should be prevented from reproducing"... Just like them to want to change the constitution. Why so afraid? Is the jig up? Read this book and decide for yourself. And if your an extremist liberal (which you are if you're one of the 1-star reviewers), then try Hilary's book where she does what liberals have done best for the last 50 years - revise history.
Rating: Summary: Most Important Book Ever Written Review: This is simply the most important book ever written. Any "Matrix" movie fans? In the Matrix, he learns that the world he knew was in fact not reality. He searches out the truth because he has a "feeling" something is not right. He finds the truth. Like most of us, I am middle-of-the-road politically and was taught like the rest of us the liberal version of history. But something wasn't right about it. If there was a "vast right wing conspiracy" as Hilary Clinton is so fond of saying, then the right-wingers aren't very good at it. 9-11 changed everything. I had to resolve this. This book was my wake-up call! There is no "vast right wing conspiracy". There is in fact a vast left wing conspiracy! You'll never look at a democrat the same way again. Buy this book if you're not afraid of the truth. It's too important now more than ever...
Rating: Summary: Pure Unadultrated Garbage Review: The first 20 pages was all I could handle. Ann Coulter would be an idealogical fit for the Taliban Mullahs... but alas she is a woman so they might not have allowed her to write this book.
Rating: Summary: don't waste your money Review: I knew this book was from ultra conservatives, nontheless, I bought this book out of interest. After reading several chapters in the beginning, I wanted to return this to the bookstore for nothing! This book is full of insults without any clear logic. I am certain she surely hates liberals, but few of them are..well.. making senses. i once read Buchanans "death of the west" which I kinds of liked it although I hated the authors.. but this one ddoesn't even worth the reading, and you will realizs you have wasted your money and time after reading several chapters..
Rating: Summary: Oh, Be Quiet Review: Reading TREASON by Ann Coulter is like reading a paper written by a third-grade playground bully. She name-calls (Janeane Garofalo is a "nitwit" and a "lemon pucker puss" just for being opposed to the war, and former president Jimmy Carter is "Lord Haw-Haw", just because she couldn't think up a more clever name for him) and she says really ignorant things such as "Everyone says that liberals love America, too. No, they don't." And the most disgusting thing is how pro-murder this woman is. She talks of war and killing Iraqis as if it's the greatest idea in the world. No wonder she considers herself and all other conservatives so pro-America - they want to kill everyone who is not American. Well pardon us liberals who don't always see it fit to slaughter people of other countries, just because they live in a place that contains tons of oil.Coulter spends the whole book "exposing" the truth about liberals and how evil they are, while failing to point out how many lousy things conservatives have done for this country as well. If she's going to point fingers, she'd better include everyone, because both sides have made mistakes. It's just the way politics work. Coulter tries so hard to be the conservative Michael Moore, but she lacks his humor and his intelligence. She whines and complains that liberals are anti-America when they speak their minds about the war, when the greatest thing about America is that you CAN speak your mind and not get dragged out into the street and shot for it. The fact that Ms. Coulter fails to see it that way tells me that she, herself, does not appreciate our country. She wants to point fingers? She should start with herself. TREASON will no doubt appeal to conservatives, and liberals will want to throw it in the fireplace. All of the 5-star reviews will have been written by conservatives, and the 1-star ones will be by liberals, no doubt. Yes, I'm a liberal, therefore her book offends me to a certain degree. But that's not the only reason I'm giving it one star. This woman is supposed to be a serious political writer, yet all the name-calling has her appearing very immature (she thinks she's being funny, but she's not). I won't even get into the fact that everyone says the book is not even well-researched, because truthfully I don't know a whole lot about political history, so I cannot confirm that. But I do know that this woman is seriously disturbed. And judging from most of the reviews on this site, I am not the only one who thinks so.
Rating: Summary: political pornography (or unintentional political humor?) Review: So you want to know "Will I like and agree with Ann Coulter's new book?". It just so happens that the answer to that question is identical to the answers to the following questions: 1) Was Harry Truman an evil genius who hid his communist sympathies by fighting a very unpopular war against communism in Korea? 2) Could we have attacked China (Russia would probably have joined in) and won even though we were losing to the Chinese in North Korea? 3) Was Joe McCarthy someone you would want your daughter to marry? Answer these yes and you'll love the book. Answer them no and you'll hate the book. At least it IS amusing.
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: Another home run by the redoubtable Ms. Coulter. And the various one-star reviews keep proving her points, over and over. BTW, pay NO attention to reviewers like "A reader from Sacramento, CA " -- I can't IMAGINE a more bigoted response than to say that someone he disagrees with should be "prevented from reproducing"! And this person is, no doubt, VERY proud of his/her "tolerance"! Give me a BREAK!!
Rating: Summary: An upclose and personal look... Review: If you want to see the conservative, radical right upclose and personal, read this book. What concerns me most is that (1) even though scholars dispute Coulter's "findings", people are buying into her revisionist view of history and (2) you're either "with 'em" or "agin 'em"....and if you're "agin 'em", you're destined to burn in hell. We'll always have radicals at both ends of the spectrum, but what scares me is that this new breed of the radical right is so mean and hate-filled. Venom virtually drips off every page of this book. Our country was founded on freedom of speech and while I disagree with every word of this book, I'll fight to defend Coulter's right to say them. I wonder if she'd do the same for James Carville.
Rating: Summary: Out of Control Review: I did not buy this book and will not read it. Ann Coulter is so shrill and out of control, even die-hard conservatives are distancing themselves from this book. Joe McCarthy as a patriotic hero? Give me a break. And Coulter is as devoid of class as she is of logic, making "fat jokes" about Hillary Rodham Clinton on national TV as she was flogging her book. The First Amendment (which she otherwise disdains) gives her the right to publish this book...but people should refuse to read it.
Rating: Summary: Horrifying Review: Ann Coulter's newest book, like her last one, is full of fallacies. She misquotes, misleads, and outright lies. A few of her "facts" are easily debunked by anyone picking up a history book.
For example: For all her McCarthy-worship, Coulter leaves out that the man had repeatedly lied in court during his defense of Nazi S.S. officers in 1949. Look it up. It happened. But facts like that matter little to Coulter's incredibly uneducated fans. Republicans and Democrats alike should be worried that this book has become so popular, and that Coulter has so many followers.
