Summary: Boring...Boring...Boring
Review: I am finally giving up Grisham for good. His first few books were great, fast-paced adventures and after that Grisham wrote books for the money. The only reason that I bought The Testament was because of the great review in USA Today. I was hoping to find the Grisham adventures that I once loved. Wrong! This book was the best sleeping pill since college Geography. If you feel you must read this book to see for yourself -- go to the library or wait for the paperback and save yourself some money.

Review: This is by far the best book John has written. The sub-plots keep you just as interested as the main plot.

Summary: Quite different from the usual Grisham suspense. . .
Review: Not a bad book; just not what I was looking for or expecting. I wanted a real page turner; this wasn't one. There is a greed vs. goodness going on that makes you realize it's not just fluff. Rachel and Nate's relationship could've been developed alot more before the end of the book.

Review: The first page has you hooked, the personal thoughts of Troy, wise/mad all at the same time. "The Testament" storyline has much improved from his previous books - last two books moved slow and became dull but I continued to read with hopes of pace picking up. Highly recommend this read!!

Summary: Grisham delivers another packed novel
Review: I started reading this book the day it was out on the shelves and have since finished it. It was a great read and Grisham hasn't failed in this book like his one failure (in my eyes), The Partner. This book is full of detail and adventure in Brazil. A great escape while reading.

Summary: An Attorney who finds he indeed has a soul!
Review: John Grisham, who in the past writings, has gone from GREAT (The Firm, The Pelican Brief) to the HARD-TO-STAY-AWAKE (The Chamber), has kept my attention again with this one. It is not only an interesting book, but it is shows the reader that indeed a lawyer can posses a soul! I highly recommend this book! The only thing I found I didn't like about the book was too much attention to detail was paid while Nate was in Brazil. Not enough action---too many details that didn't really add to the story line. I'm still in love with John Grisham and will continue to be a hard-back buyer! I married a boy from North Mississippi, and they just don't grow them any better than that!

Summary: All inspiring
Review: I found this book an inspiring adventure through South America. I could actually visualize the native tribesman and the jungles described (probably because wanted to learn about this area)The heirs were colorful and gready - so typical of beneficiary of so much money. I loved the development of Nate and his journey to "find himself". Either you love this book or you hate it. Inspiration is the key word for me.

Summary: Another lawyer for Grisham! Great book!
Review: OK OK OK. Here's another lawyer, writing another review of another lawyer's book. Except this book is different: it works. Here's the best development of character, and change of character, that Grisham has written yet. And for me, that's what makes a book or film work. As for the depiction of the lawyers for the Phelan family members - wonderful! I personally know that greed (been there, done that). Altho I'm no longer in law, it's cool to read a book like this and get to remember why that is. Nice job, John. Keep 'em coming.

Summary: Too religious...yawn
Review: Yawn...too ridiculous to believe. This is a book about lawyers? How? Searching the jungles, getting sober...yawn. Not a bad book overall, but definitely not a John Grishmam type book. Has John found religion all of a sudden?

Review: As a Christian, I found it refreshing to read a novel interwoven with the message of hope and salvation. Truly God's hand is evident in Mr. Grisham's writing, and what a blessing to all of us. Thank you!
