Rating: Summary: Survival Guide for the Regular Guy/Gal Review: Bill O'Reilly slaps it home with this "survival guide" for the regular guy/gal. Mr. O'Reilly does his best to keep it balanced while covering everything from shady politicians to necessity of a good deodorant. It's like stopping for a beer with him after the show. I bet he'd rattle off 200 pages of dialogue before you can respond! Thanks Bill, for bird's eye view with the worm's eye perspective. P.S. Saturday Night Fever didn't view a Brooklyn sub-culture...it created it! Brooklynites had to go to Long Island or Manhattan to disco. (Remember Speakeasy or Adam's Apple?)
Rating: Summary: OReilly the Best in American Life Review: Bill O'Reilly tells it like it is in a language that speaks to the average American. I laughed so much while reading it since growing up Irish Catholic and going to Parochial I could relate. But anyone can relate to this wise telling..it knows no religion or age or sex. I doubt that Mr O will be invited to spend the night in the Lincoln Bedroom after writing this but I urge all to invite this book into your home.
Rating: Summary: We're Reading and Listening, Bill. . . Review: Consider the source of these reviews. They come from people who buy and read books - and take the time out to write reviews based on their own opinions and impressions. And that's exactly what Bill O'Reilly does in his book and on his T.V. show. The numbers don't lie - O'Reilly's making an extraordinary impression on most of us. Book sales steadily climb while his T.V. audience continues to grow. Agree with him or not, these facts are an undeniable indication that WHAT he says and HOW he says it is a most a welcome phenomenon. Keep talking Bill - we're reading and listening, and we look forward to more!
Rating: Summary: The words of the surpressed. Review: Finally, a point of view that is much more widely held than believed. Through my brief time living (23), I rarely hear, or read, thoughts that are candid and practical in the mainstream press. There are many great authors who write intelligently about political and economical points of view, but are never considered "trendy" like so many "feel good" opinions supported only by skewed intuition, or political ideology. Thanks O'Reilly, at least one of us made it to the top.
Rating: Summary: A Good start for those who are independant thinkers. Review: The man pulls no punches and if you're blinded by political ideology this bookis not for you.If you are tied down by political ideology and want to break free then get this book.
Rating: Summary: The O Reilly Factor , The Good ,Bad & Completly Ridiculous i Review: O'Reilly has hit a home run with this book. A crystal clear,no nonsense, look at America today. finally, some has stood up to main stream media and yelled BALONEY. We need an educated population and this is a step in the right direction.Politicians beware.the TRUTH IS OUT THERE.
Rating: Summary: Unpretentious Bill Review: The great thing about this book is that O'Reilly does not pontificate. He presents his likes and dislikes in an honest, down-to-earth way that is very likable. He calls his show a "no spin zone" and that carries over into the book, too. When was the last time you read a list of a reporter's favorite movies? Bill lists his, and the choices sound like those of a real person, not some ghost writer's guess. You will also love the "most ridiculous" list. I understand some people find his blunt (and conservative) style hard to take but for me he's a breath of fresh air in a conformist media environment. If sometimes O'Reilly sounds like your old high school history teacher, remember; that guy was probably smarter than you gave him credit for, so listen. You might learn something.
Rating: Summary: Independent????????????? Review: O'Reilly is Independent?????????........haha this is so laughable. His show is the most right wing show left of Rush Limbaugh, as his channel, as he finally admitted, reports w/ a right wing bias. The book proves to be no different. Thankfully, because only gop-ers watch the fox news channel, the o'reilly factor will not be a factor in this election.
Rating: Summary: On the Mark in many Ways Review: Yes, he is opinionated, but he is also truthful about our country and its moral fiber. Whether he is a liberal or a conservative, it doesn't really matter, as he has many splendid ideas to offer in helping our country get back on track. Thank you, Bill. It does indeed take a family, not a village.
Rating: Summary: Great Fun And Thought Provoking Review: I have found O'reilly's TV broadcast to often be interesting and fun. He pulls no punches and doesn't allow people to avoind the topic. Therefore, I eagerly awaited his book to see if it was hard hitting as well. The book is great, and in many ways hard hitting but more enjoyable. He speaks about "The Good, the Bad, and the Completely Ridiculous" with flavor and wit.Even though his book is great it isn't very long and I devored it in just a couple of hours. However, I believe this is the strength of the book. It doesn't "bog" some one down with too much detail, but instead gives advice on general principles. Since I'm am Danish and am from Demark, I can testify, that his criticism of Europe are right on the mark. The disagreements I have with his book are nonimal and I give it 4 stars, because personnally I wanted more discussion in the areas of Politics, Race and Religion. He raises good questions and insight but doesn't explore these subjects further. It is his best writing in the book, however, it ends far too quickly. This book is fun!!!
