Summary: Can`t Go Wrong...
Review: Grisham does it again. Have to get up for work at 6am everyday and I found myself reading until 3am without knowing it. Grisham grabs you at the beginning and won`t let you go until you turn the last page. Highly recommend this one...

Summary: Best Grisham Novel
Review: I have read all of Grisham's Novels, and this one is as good if not better than "the Firm" and "A Time to Kill". I couldn't put the book down, and I even called in Sick one day for it.

The plot is unpredictable, and every time you think you know were he is going with it, he fools you. The ending is the Best.

If you liked Grisham's first 2 books, you won't be desappointed with this one.

Summary: Good Grisham, but a bit wordy
Review: Decent Grisham tale of Patrick Lanigan, the law partner who faked his own death and stole $90 million from his firm. As in any Grisham novel, he creates firm characters and a great story. This one gets a bit wordy, but overall, it's not bad.

Summary: Grisham's best crated story yet.
Review: The clever plot, personable characters and writing style are the best of Grisham. Holds your attention, easy to read and follow when you have to read it in chunks of time. Can't wait for the movie

Summary: The Best Yet
Review: I am a dedicated reader of all of Grisham's books, and this is certainly one of his best works. I particularly enjoy his focus on Brazil, not only in this book but also in "The Testament" (another great one). I have found his information on Brazil very accurate and he knows how to describe life there as it really is. (I have lived in Brazil for 10 years)This book definitely tops them all!

Summary: The Formula Gets Thin
Review: It's probably gotten to the point where John Grisham's grocery list would sell.

It would probably be almost as good as THE PARTNER.

Grisham is a very capable writer. While it's doubtful that his books will ever be read as great literary classics, he does have a way of writing page-turning suspensers that have merit (THE CLIENT and THE FIRM being obvious examples).

But, in THE PARTNER, Big John misfires. The premise is a good one: a lawyer in-the-know screws his evil partners and disappears with $90 million. But the main character, Patrick, is portrayed by Grisham as being so totally in control that he seems almost too superhuman to care about.

This is not to say that the book isn't a page-turner; Grisham has the knack of keeping the reader interested, no matter how silly the plot. But the subplots go nowhere (particularly one involving Patrick's ex-wife), and the ending, which is supposed to be ironic, is so out-of-the-blue that it seems like a cheat.

THE PARTNER, then, is interesting enough to keep you reading, but is, ultimately, a disappointment.

Summary: Grisham Does It Again!
Review: Just when I thought Grisham couldn't get any better! The story of Patrick Lannigan will keep you spellbound from the first to the last page. I couldn't put this one down - you won't believe the twists and turns this book takes, and the ending will leave you speechless!

Summary: All of man's illegal plans must be bashed by a woman
Review: The ending was a DEFINITE surprise and was GREAT! This typical spell-binding journey of Grisham's leads the reader to Brazil and back, on a painful crusade for main character, Patrick Lanigan, who almost gets away with stealing from his million-dollar law firm. Patrick's beautiful lover helps him at every stage of the game as his law firm will stop at nothing to find him and have his head -- or other parts of his body -- on a platter. Not to mention getting their money back. Accusing the FBI of being the ones to torture him by electric shock and other painful methods was a brilliant decision for young Patrick. In fact, his brilliance causes him to win against everyone, except one person...

Summary: the partner
Review: We would all like to get away somtimes, but leaving is the problem. Not having enough money to live a good life, forgetting all of your friends and family, leaving your job, just picking up and going . Patrick does what every person wishes they could do, steal a furtune and almost getaway with it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has the idea of going away and pray that you past never finds you. It really would change your mind on what you would do.

Summary: The Partner is a perfect example of why I read Grisham
Review: Just when I thought I'd read all of Grisham's works, I discovered I had overlooked The Partner. So, more to be able to say "I read all of Grisham's stuff" than anything else, I started reading it. And couldn't stop. I started and finished the book in a day and a half. Very engaging, very exciting. Probably my favorite of Grisham's.
