Summary: I Was Hoping for More
Review: A few weeks ago I read Mary Kay Andrews' Savannah Blues and really enjoyed it, so I thought that I'd give Little Bitty Lies a try. The reviews that I read at Amazon pretty much said that it's okay but not as good as Savannah. And that pretty much hits it.

Lies is the story of Mary Bliss McGowan, an Atlanta yuppie who doesn't realise that her marriage is in trouble until the night she finds a note from her husband telling her that he's gone - with all their joint assets. Mary Bliss responds by telling one 'little bitty lie' - that he's just out of town. The one little lie escalates until she and her best friend end up faking his death to collect the insurance.

Andrews [who is really Atlanta author Kathy Trocheck] does a great job catching the Atlanta/Southern ambience, but it's hard to see Mary Bliss as a sympathetic character when she lies to her daughter and mother-in-law about her husband's death and when her major concern with the end of her marriage is financial.

I'm giving this one a C and hope that Ms Andrews will slow down and do better preparation before she writes her next one.

Summary: Not as good as "Savannah Blues," but still a great read!!
Review: I could not put down "Savannah Blues." Wondeful first novel from this fine author. Something about "Little Bitty Lies" was disappointing, though. Does anybody know why Andrews felt the needs to use so many product names in her first book??? (i.e., KitchenAid, Lilly Pulitzer, etc.) I wondered if she was getting paid for these endorsements. The story of "Lies" is wonderful, but I don't think we want to get to know Mary Bliss the way we wanted to get to know Weezie (in "Savannah Blues.") I am looking forward to her next one. I hope she returns to the coast for her setting!

Summary: Every married woman SHOULD READ . . .
Review: I had read Savannah Blues and enjoyed~~so I had no hesitation in picking up Little Bitty Lies. Wonderful, wonderful read! The plot kept me turning the pages. The book was humorous at times as well as thought provoking~~married women must pay attention to the financial details in their household~~never assume the spouse is always dealing straight with you. How the wife deals with everything will have you up til 2am finishing this book! This author is one to recommend and the book a keeper! I know I'm looking forward to the author's next book: "Hissy Fit" coming out in September!!!

Summary: Mixture of sex and chicken salad
Review: I LOVED this book. Mary Kay Andrews is bound to hit to bestseller list and perhaps this is the book that will do it for her. Little Bitty Lies reads very quickly, and that was because I found it difficult to stop reading before I finished it. Mary Bliss and Katherine are wonderful characters, and show friendship at its finest. I wanted to slap Erin, slug Parker and smooch Matt, all great characters. The book has sex, love, friendship, money, humor in addition to a great chicken salad recipe (and yes, I've tried it, and it's super). A fast, fun, frolicky read that is a perfect summer book. Another winner from Mary Kay Andrews. Keep 'em coming, Mary Kay! Eager readers everywhere will be panting waiting for your next one.

Summary: GREAT READ!!
Review: This is a wonderful book!Being from metro Atlanta, I identified with the characters and places the author based the story on.
THe book was really well written and each page leads you into the next, holding your interest right up til the very end.
I read this book in 24 hours and really enjoyed it --already looking for her other books. There are very few authors who are able to blend fiction with humor without losing the reader and Mary Kay Andrews has done an excellent job.
