Summary: Excellent Book
Review: I found this book to be a rather good read. It was a little hard to get into at first, but it picks up quickly. Lots of action and suspense. One thing I noticed though, a lot of people here that are writing reviews saying they find it hard to believe Webb ran all over China with a briefcase full of money. He didn't. Maybe some people just missed it, but one of the first things he does in China is to drop off his case at a hotel vault. After that, the case is hardly mentioned again. Anyhow, I was well pleased with this book. Don't make the mistake of reading this with only the movie "The Bourne Identity" to go on. You have to read the first book to understand the second one at all.

Summary: Believe-it-or-not--even BETTER than the 1st Bourne book...
Review: I rejoiced when I first heard that Ludlum had taken on the daunting task of writing a sequel to one of his all-time best novels--but I was wary of whether or not it'd be as good. I rolled the dice and I came out a winner.

SOMEONE is doing a number of murders in the Far East...calling himself Jason Bourne. It sends chills up the spines of many people...especially those who know it ISN'T Jason Bourne because HE never existed... SOMEONE is trying to accomplish something, but WHAT it is, well that of course is where all the fun of this novel is--in finding out just exactly WHAT and more importantly: WHO.

From the very heart of China, to Hong Kong this is a drag race to the finish line using a rocket to propel it along at an amazing pace. Ludlum IS the master of suspense and intrigue, and in 'The Bourne Supremacy' he is at the top of his form--again. As much as I enjoyed 'Identity' and felt it couldn't be topped, I have to say 'Supremacy' was even BETTER. As far as the last volume in the series goes, ('The Bourne Ultimatum') sad to say, but that one was my least favorite, and yet even IT was still a great book.

Fans of Ludlum cannot be considered REAL fans unless you have read ALL of his 'Bourne' books, and this is one to savor. When it first came out in 1986 I bought it immediately and wrapped myself in it's incredible plot. I decided not long ago that I'd see if it stood the test of time and picked it up again. I am happy to say it is every bit as good the 2nd time around, and don't worry, it really DOES stand the test of time. Ludlum really IS the BEST THERE IS when it comes to spy/thrillers, and 'The Bourne Supremacy', Ludlum really IS SUPREME.

Summary: the legacy lives on!
Review: It is great to see this Bourne series getting all this attention, and I can't wait for the movie! Ludlum was the father of the modern thriller (at least in my opinion). this is the middle book of the Bourne Series about a deadly assassian created by the US goverenment, from the mild manner David Webb. While not as good as the "Bourne Identity" it is still a must read for all thriller fans, and hopefully a new generation of fans will get to enjoy this fine trilogy! Also check out "The Bourne Identity and Ultimatum" and I agree with an earlier reviewer "A Tourist in the Yucatan" is a thriller that carries on in the Ludlum tradition!

Summary: Superb Sequel
Review: Its always been the case that when a sequel is released to a very successful movie, or a book or anything of that sort, it generally turns out to be a dud compared to the first part.

How about this for a change? A sequel to a highly successful book turns out to be just as exciting and even more intriguing than its predecessor. Well folks, thats Robert Ludlum for you. Only a writer like him can dish out something extraordinary like this.

The Bourne Supremacy is a treat for all Jason Bourne fans. Its packed with loads of action, great plot and some interesting new characters. The caption on the back cover says, This time Bourne must reign supreme, and he does in style.

I felt the plot of using Bourne this time to track down another Assasin who's supposed to be his clone, was quite well handled and pretty much flawless. Those who missed Carlos in this book, don't worry, he's waiting in the Bourne Ultimatum.

All in all, a fantastic book, brilliant read!

Summary: good writing but why sooooo long?!
Review: ludlum's writing is good but reading pleasure spoiled by length of this novel - got bored after some 300 pages

Summary: The Bourne Supremacy
Review: The beginning of The Bourne Supremacy by Robert Ludlum starts off as an action-packed murder mystery in Southeast Asia. David Webb now has to rise again to defeat the assassin impersonating him. As I look back at the first book, The Bourne Identity, I feel that the sequel did not meet my expectations. For one, I think Ludlum wrote the Bourne Supremacy in order to write the last book, The Bourne Ultimatum, which already seems to be better than the last. For Carlos, the original threat to Bourne, wants Jason's head. However, I would still recommend this book because of Ludlum's action-packed writing style.
