Summary: Excellent beginner's course
Review: This is an excellent beginner's course. I had taken one semester's Japanese before buying this course, and after I completed it I was able to place into an advanced Japanese class. The emphasis on conversation skills is a welcome feature that sets it apart from many other courses which tend to be boring. You get two sets of tapes (4 in each set), one set is labeled "In the Home" and the other "On the Go". I do find the pronunciation on the tapes occasionally odd, un-Tokyo-like, though. But you can't go wrong with this very practical course.
