Summary: The whole enchilada
Review: Linda Howard has quickly become one of my favorite romance authors, though for a long time I was reluctant to read this particular book of hers. Now that I have read it I could kick myself for wasting time. Read this book now! It is funny, serious, sexual and I love Janie as the lead. She is smart, sassy and doesn't fade into the long list of romance novel women. She is an individual with more to talk about than what she wants in a guy. . . which brings us to the plot.
Four friends make up a list of a Mr. Perfect, the list gets out and people start dying. . . Creepy, especially with the beginning prologue. But that is not the whole of the story, there are four friends, all different but fun, there's an annoying neighbor, A ford Shelby mustang, lots of humor and . . . the hero is great. He is not intimidated by this list of what a perfect man should be. That in itself is sexy, not to mention he has a really great. . . shoe size. All in all, this is a great read at any time. Perhaps not in public though unless you want to embarrass yourself by bursting out in laughter.

Summary: Good Book Although Unrealistic Plot
Review: The romance between Sam and Jaine was cute. Starting out as neighbors hating each other and then turning into something more. I liked the quarters Jaine had to give people if she said a curse word. Most people know how hard it is to stop cursing even if you only say it in your mind and then you just get used to saying it.

Of course some of the words Howard used was pretty juvenile. I didn't know whether to laugh or not when Howard put the words "sticky-out part." The mystery part was though. Some books you get the first time reading it through. This one you don't. I am really going to have to follow the killer when I read this again because it was really crazy. I didn't know who the killer was until Howard actually spelled it out.

As far as the "List" goes though, that plot was pretty unrealistic. How many times have women made lists about the perfect guy? Then they become celebrities because of this? Appearing on many talk shows and even ABC, I don't think so. So if you have a hard time reading a book that isn't realistic, this isn't the book for you. I was getting a bit annoyed too but the rest of the book is really good.

Because the characters died so soon too, they were really only surface revealed. Then I was annoyed that the author killed off the women who made up with their boyfriends/husbands. Since the characters except for Jaine and Sam were flat, I didn't really care too much when they died anyway. Mostly I just said awww oh well to myself. But it was nice to see how the four girlfriends chatted and reminded me of my clique of girls.

Review: This book had a unique plot and was funny at the same time.

One of my favorites by Linda Howard.

Summary: A Definite HIT!!!
Review: This is not only one of my favorites by Linda Howard, but some of the few romance novels I've read that I have to reread over and over. It's up there with Robert's Montana Sky and Gabaldon's Outlander.

It's supposedly a mystery romance, but there's not too much mystery in it; however, you don't really mind all that much. It's got a surprise ending and the least of what you expect happens.

It's hot, blunt and the characters are strong and bold. The main female character is woman named Jaine Bright, a computer techi, formulates a Mr. Right List with 3 of her other close friends. When it becomes national news, they end up ruffling not only men everywhere, but also a psycho with a self-esteem issue.

Enter Sam, the annoying loud, perhaps drug dealer neighbor of Jaine. They can't stand each other. For a while anyway. Jaine with her hit and miss relationships at first doesn't notices Sam's, ahem, nice assets. But as they come in contact with each other more and more, they both realize they have very volatile feelings: for each other.

...

I was surprised that the mystery part wasn't all too bad; not the greatest, but not bad at all. I liked Jaine's real attitude and behavior. She's smart, sassy and knows how swear like sailor. There's a lot of humor injected into the dialogue, which makes you burst out laughing! I couldn't get enough. When I finished, I wanted it to be longer. I got done in one afternoon-that good! It would awesome if Ms. Howard would write a sequel to Mr. Perfect. Read on, you won't regret reading this.

Summary: Mr. Perfect is Perfect!!
Review: What a wonderful sexy, titillating, suspenseful story. Quite a departure from Linda Howard's former genre but she is a master at this type of writing just as she is a master of the more serious stories.

Jaine Bright and three of her friends make a list they require in a perfect mate. Somehow this list is released to the news media and much publicity is derived from this. In the interim Jaine meets her next door neighbor, Sam, who she believes is a drunk, junkie, whatever, although she later learns he is a police detective. The sparks fly. The scene wherein Jaine views a naked Sam through her kitchen window is one of the funniest, sexiest scenes I have read. I laughed till the tears rolled.

Meanwhile, a very disgruntled sick person, takes the characteristics in the list personally and decides to systematically kill the four women. The plot runs from very serious and scary to funny. The ending will not surprise you. I suspected the murderer early in the book but it made the reading no less interesting.

Keep up the good work Linda Howard. My favorites of her books are Sarah's Child and Shades of Twilight. I have to add this one to the list.
