Summary: Beginners Guide to the Rulers of Imperial Rome
Review: This was one of the first books that introduced me to the splendors, excesses, and cruelty of the Roman Emperors. Truly an easy to read, concise, yet full account of all of the emperors and the significant events that happened within their reigns. the book has lots of cool pictures and diagrams that let you visually realise what these people were like. Be warned, once you read this book, you'll be hooked on the life and times of the Romans!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Best book on the subject I've seen...
Review: Well written and informative, the book digresses into rumor in some instances, but for the most park focuses on fact so much as can be determined. If there were any complaint I had with the book, it would be that it did not deal with the period prior the beginning of the imperial era enough, though it tantalizes the reader by naming prior leaders, such as Julius Caesar (who is not listed as an emperor, being a dictator instead.) I must add that I found certain passages unsupportable by fact, such as the commentary that Claudius was poisoned, which has never been proven anywhere, but is listed here as fact. Regardless, this is the best book on the subject I have seen to date, and is one that anyone interested in the period should own.

Summary: EXCELLENT READING, SUPERB FORMAT!
Review: You will enjoy this book tremendously. Written for the casual reader, this effort details the accomplishments, personalities, depravities, and personal relationships of all 80 Roman emperors. Also includes photographs of ancient ruins and of the busts/statues of each emperor. Be forewarned, the hedonistic tendencies of these ancient rulers is covered here. Some of their behaviors (sexual and otherwise) ranged from simple narcissism to outright perversion, which makes this entertaining book inappropriate for children.
