Summary: The same thing over and over again -- and we love it!!
Review: What an amazing book. I love how it repeats itself!

This book has 34 chapters, and each one is exactly the same. Each chapter discusses how there are two Americas, one for the rich and one for the rest of us. Each chapter says, "I actually care about YOU." Each chapter says, "I know most politicans don't like to talk about this," and then goes on to talk about poverty. He always discusses this particular ten-year-old girl who goes to bed hungry. Her father has "that look in his eye that I know so well from personal experience" because he has been laid off from a factory.

Even though all 34 chapters are exactly the same, I loved reading this book from start to finish. It never got old!!

Now I want to go hear John Edwards recite those 34 chapters in the form of a speech, never varying it no matter where he may be visiting, so that he can conveniently avoid learning anything about the locals and just sell his bad self instead! Mmmm, can't get enough.

Summary: Astounding
Review: Wow. So much passion, so much authenticity. The book is deeply moving - really gets at you and grabs you in. I suggest it to everyone with a sense of justice or a heart (or both). If this guy wins the presidency in 2004, well, our country will be in great shape.

Summary: Interesting insight into the Presidential Candidate
Review: Written "with John Auchard," this book actually manages to capture the essence of the Democratic candidate without being overly sentimental. The fact that Edwards has consistently run his campaign with unflagging sportsmanship and integrity (to date, anyway...keep up the good work, John!) makes the reader believe that the ethics and determination displayed in the book is true to life. I was concerned that he was another "get rich quick Personal Injury lawyer," but Edwards comes across more as a family man and patriot.

Whether or not he gets my vote remains to be seen. But in the meanwhile, I don't hesitate to promote his book!
