Summary: A beautiful book to keep for many years
Review: Out of the slew of Detroit tricentennial books that have popped up over the past year or so, this is my personal favorite. "Detroit: Across Three Centuries" is a high-quality, coffee-table style book that is just as good for reading as it is for just looking at the pictures! As always, Richard Bak's writing is informative, insightful, and engrossing, and as in all of his books, the photographs are some of the best available.

Given the price of books these days, this is an amazingly beautiful book for what you will pay for it. It's one of those books that you will proudly display in your collection for years to come.

Summary: Really good, few errors
Review: The illustrations really make this book. I am giving it to Detroit history buffs for Christmas.
However, I found minor errors in historical fact. I didn't go looking for errors. They jumped out at me.
Well worth the purchase price for the illustrations alone.
