Summary: Excellent historical biography
Review: This is an excellent biography. The first tribute is to the author's writing style. Even though the reader will know "how it turns out", the author adds enough new material and new insights with a good writing style. I learned that Douglas MacArthur was neither a saint nor a sinner. He was a true military genius. He had a lot of personality quirks, but what great people don't? He was extraordinarily brave. The author develops his personality rather than focusing on the controversial actions he either took or didn' take (the march on Washington and insubordination to Truman). All in all, a great read
