Summary: 12 Days in Ghana
Review: 12 Days in Ghana is a superb publication! Once I started reading the book, I couldn't put it down. I was amazed that this was Mr. Gaines first publication. 12 Days in Ghana made me laugh and cry - he did an excellent job on incorporating emotions and humor throughout the book. His writing style made me feel that I was with him on his journey to Ghana. This book has inspired me to continue my research on my family history. I highly recommend this book to anyone planning a voyage to their Ghana or anyone who is planning to search their own roots. I am hoping Mr. Gaines will write a sequel to the book!

Summary: 12 Days in Ghana
Review: First and foremost, I was amazed at how Mr. Gaines made each of his experiences tangible for me through his descriptive style. I actually felt like I was there with him meeting the people, tasting the food, dancing, and generally learning a totally different culture. I also enjoyed how he shifted moods throughout the book and especially how he interspersed small nuggets of humor. This book should be recommended reading for anyone planning a leisure/educational trip to not only Ghana, but anywhere. We should all learn from and enjoy such experiences as much as Mr. Gaines did. Great book!

Summary: Gripping Stuff
Review: I read the story in this magnificently written book and was fascinated by the content and presentation.
The author has written a book, the contents of which might have taken someone else many days or even months to put together.
I have heard about the 25 Fortes that dot the coast of Ghana. The description of one of them by the author and its dungeons brought tears to my eyes.
His creative writing is second to none. I enjoyed my reading immensely. It made me feel like packing my belongings and touring the whole of the West Coast of Africa. It is that gripping.

Review: My co-worker's brother wrote this book so I decided to support him and read it. Since I'm preparing for a trip to Ghana also I thought this book was interesting and Mr. Gaines' adventures were hilarious.
