Review: This book was written in a fashion that flips you from one time frame to another. They were with Elvis most of the time, pretended to be his friend, one he could confide in, who else was Elvis suppose to confide in. They knew his strengths and weaknesses, and they used it against them, What is the old saying, keep your enemies at bay, but friends are close to the heart, and they were, he confided his secrets with them, who he went with, they were right there laughing with him, guarding him, acting as if they cared for him, Now do you really think they got that mad because his daddy fired them? sure, for He gave them so much, and trusted him with his life, and I would bet my life that they got part of the dope for him, and that they fed it to him, here Elvis you need to sleep, here is a pill, I am not saying that they held him at gunpoint, or twisted his arm, to get him to take it, but they knew his weaknesses, and they knew they had played their cards wrong, made him mad, he probably found out that they were writing this book, and that hurt him, would it not you? He gave them lavish gifts, next to the salary they got, they stayed at his home, with their wives and kids, when they wanted them there, they were partying just as much as he was, women, yes, them too, they would have been glad when he threw parties, for they got in on the fun too. It is so sad that friends would turn on another, but haven't you had in your life a friend you trusted with your wife, and they abused your friendship. People it had to hurt him. He had a big heart, and that is where they got him. Elvis had problems as we all do, sucess got to him, because he put his entire being into his love for the music and performance. He had a rough life, prison can be in the mind, not just the flesh, and tho he was imprisioned in a mansion, it is the same as any prison. I thank God for him. He saved my life one nite, and I will always thank him for this. Red and Sonny just stood by. One day they will face this head on. Hope I am there to see it.
