Summary: A Solid Introduction to a Great Mind
Review: Cornelis de Waal's ON PEIRCE provides a solid and reliable survey of the principal doctrines and concerns of the great American philosopher, Charles Sanders Peirce. As de Waal puts it, the text constitutes a trustworthy "travel companion" to Peirce, and so does not get mired in the difficult interpretive issues concerning how Peirce's "system" hangs together. Highly recommended for both philosophical novices and philosophers unacquainted with Peirce's thought.
