Rating: Summary: Incredible book! Review: This is an incredible book about the career of one of the very first supermodels -- the beautiful Carmen Dell Orefice. She was one of the greats of the 1940s and 1950s, and instead of just disappearing, she managed the one impossible thing in the modeling world -- a lifetime career. She is STILL modeling, and she is her 70s! If you are interested in stunning photography by the greats (Horst, Parkinson, etc.) you should get this book. This book was written when she was in her 50s, and experiencing a career renaissance. Lauren Hutton owes this woman a huge debt of gratitude for opening the door to older models. Again -- the pictures in this book (they span her entire career) are SO GORGEOUS, and her personal story and triumph are incredibly interesting. They just don't make models like Carmen anymore, and its a darn shame. I can't recommend this book highly enough!
