Review: Having spent eight summers of my life at Blue Star in North Carolina, I cannot begin to explain how Herman Popkin's book touched me. It captures the essence, not only Blue Star, but the feelings that so many people share with regard to their experiences about camp and camping life. Throughout his life as owner and director of Blue Star Camps, Herman Popkin has touched the lives of literally thousands of people. His camp provides a second family to over 1,000 children every summer and has created a family for people all over the world.
