Rating: Summary: Reveals a relatively unknown story Review: Researched and written by Janusz Cisek (Deputy Director of the Department of International Relations and European Integration at the Ministry of Culture in Warsaw, Poland), Kosciuszko, We Are Here! reveals the relatively unknown story of the Kosciuszko Squadron, a small group of American flyers who defended Poland in the years after World War I, serving from 1919-1921. Without the support of the American State Department, these men were expected to protect a Poland which was in ruins as a result of the devastation of World War I, from the growing threat of the Soviet's Bolshevik armies, and prevent the communist revolution in Russia from spreading to Germany. Kosciuszko, We Are Here! is an informed, succinctly written, and superbly presented "window in time" glimpse into a hitherto obscure aspect of military and aviation history.
