Rating: 4 stars
Summary: An exhaustive history of an American aircraft designer.
Review: Fred Weick was perhaps the most important person to single-handedly change the general aviation world through his design for safety. Extremely influentially, but sadly, seldom credited, he is responsible for the design of the propeller seen on every general aviation aircraft for the last fifty years. His work on the propeller, as well as the Ercoupe airplane, Pawnee agricultural spray plane as well as the NACA early years is recounted in this excellently-written history. It is most likely enjoyed by detail-hungry aviation enthusiasts, and clears up some of the myths of early aviation in America. A definite must for the aviation enthusiast, and much cheaper through Amazon than what I paid
