Summary: A Passionate True Story!
Review: "I Am Still Standing," by Sue Ann Worsley is a passionate, and at
times graphic true story. This revealing autobiography is an eye opener in many ways. I have to say I experienced a variety of emotions while reading - pain, joy, sympathy, and in parts disgust. Disgust by the traumatic encounters that many innocent children had to go through because of the "sickness" of one man. A man who never had to pay for his crimes of sexual abuse.

With that being said I was extremely drawn to Mrs. Worsley's story. Though there was a lot of pain within her life there were also tremendous joys and miracles that took place. I feel like when I finished this book I walked away with new found knowledge. I learned regardless of love's failures there is still hope for a life with "and they lived happily ever after."

Summary: Read my book - if you dare!
Review: Read my book - if you dare!

You will find that you do care,
Or maybe you once cared about
That little girl who seemed so out of place;
The one who often had a sad look on her sweet little face.
Maybe, you cared but you thought that you would be out of line
If you asked her mother, sisters or brother-
"why are these children so sad most of the time?"
How could you have known, that had you asked, their "cover" would have been blown?
Would you say then, "if only I knew?"
If you had a clue, would you say, out loud that you knew this family?
Would you say." Their stepfather passes the collection plate at church every Sunday and their mother sings in the choir!"
"Those children go to youth groups and church camps- it simply can't be so!"

Sue Ann Worsley uses no literary devices and no dramatic twists to elaborate her story. Her tale is tragically true and utterly compelling, drawing the reader into a desperate need to hear her out and to wonder at the human ability to survive. As abuse often does, it has infected not only Sue Ann, but her daughter Kim and, even more unspeakably, her granddaughter Madison.

"I Am Still Standing" is a story with the strength to move you. A damaged yet startlingly clear voice haunts the reader with every sentence. It is an opus of the redemptive power of love despite the constant shadows of darkness that too often seem overwhelming. That Sue Ann is still standing is a testament to a mother's love and how it is passed on to her own child. These are lessons well-learned when faced with the ultimate struggle for the life of Sue Ann's granddaughter.

Sue Ann Worsley will catch you off guard and you will find yourself laughing through your tears. She will speak to you, but not of a life of ultimate woe. Sue Ann will sing for you a song of hope. You only have to pause a moment to hear it.
