Summary: An inside look.
Review: I have always wondered what it is like to go to boot camp or to war. How is one treated? What are the conditions? What is involved in the training? Are women treated differently? I'm glad to have found a book that has answered these questions from a personal perspective. Very facinating! I appreciate a book that can capture the everyday goings on and the emotions that occur. A page turner. Don't pass this one up!!

Summary: A womans view of war
Review: I read and throughly enjoyed this entertaining and engrossing story of what it was like to be a woman serving in the Gulf war and in the Army in the early 1990s. Mary had to endure hardships and prejudices and managed to come through it all with a new appreciation for life, family and home.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone, it's a page turner.

Summary: Great format idea
Review: Mary Stabe has written a very interesting and emotional story about Desert Storm, the effects it had on her by way of the letters she sent home to family. It is not a story about the gory details of war, but rather her perspective of life as a woman soldier doing her duty to her country. I wanted to know more about what happened when she returned to the USA.

Summary: Diary From The Desert
Review: This is a wonderful book that depicts the life of female American soldier. Through her letters home you get a chance to see just what it was like to live through the Gulf War. This book isn't a tactical history but an emotional history. She shares with us the details of the friendships she developed with her fellow soldiers and the romance that blossomed with Jason, now her husband.
