Rating: Summary: What a Gem of a Book...! Review: "Letters from the Pacific" should be required reading for all U.S. Military Chaplains. The letters written by Chaplain Russell Stroup show the side of a sensitive, caring man who ministered to the troops assigned to him, plus even the enemy (as P.O.W.'s during WWII) on occasion. A Godly man, his letters have been edited and presented to the public by his nephew, Richard Cartwright Austin. I have the hardback book on my shelf, and will read it again in the future.
I wish I could have met him; there don't seem to be enough heroes these days.
