Summary: A Glimpse Into Lifestyles I'd Never Even Imagined
Review: I Have Arrived Before My Words was a great opportunity for me to expand my understanding of life. It was not until I had read the collection of memoirs that I began to realize I am not appreciating the comfortable life I live. Each of the women, in their own words, share the stories of their lives - how they became homeless and through their writings, the reader can begin to understand how each woman dealt with their unique obstacles. A couple of these women fight drugs addictions, and a few were raped or neglected in their younger years, but most importantly each woman had a series of personal battles to fight and it was empowering for me to realize that people are capable of getting themselves out of anything. Having read the memoirs over and over, I have become a more positive person in realizing that I need to appreciate each of my blessings. I think this book has changed my attitude as well as my understanding of life and i definitely reccommend it to anyone who has never taken the time to realize how less fortunate people live.
